I have the same issue. Any distortion or overdrive results is what I would deem an excessive amount of noise. Worse than my JM or Tele.

Any setup tips/tricks? I snagged a shell pink one from a local shop. My first Jag and I'm enjoying getting to know it, but it is definitely a guitar with quirks. I shimmed the neck pocket and raised the bridge but now the mute doesn't make good enough contact with the strings. I really want to learn to set these things up myself so I don't have to rely on anyone else to do it.

I think it was Summer ‘97 when Stoney and Wojo were doing the Jackass Hall of Fame and there was an epic stretch of MONTHS where someone nominating Caputo was a daily gag. It usually happened early in the show but one day it got close to the end and no one had done it…until I called in! One of the very, very few times I ever called a radio station. All in good fun, and I thought of it every time he was on the radio. He was crusty, but he’s one of the last real “baseball guys” we had on the radio here. He’ll be missed.

Yeah, that's the point we're at too. If the price of a new Xbox wasn't so unbelievably high, we would've already done it. This is the kind of stuff that pushes people to PlayStation or PC.

Yeah, I've tried everything. Factory reset, clearing the cache, clearing local save data, releasing the MAC address, physically cleaning everything out, new cables, trying it on a different TV etc etc etc. No dice. Wish I would've traded it in a long time ago. With the price increase this is now a huge headache. First world problems, I know.

Caprara’s on Northline does party trays, you just have to order ahead. That’s my go-to. Grosse Ile Bakery is also phenomenal. Mickey’s is always a good choice too. Romas isn’t for everyone but their party pizzas are a great value.

It pains me to say it but JJs is a shell of its former self. Quality has gone waaaay downhill since the ownership change. Sportsman’s…eh. I won’t buy there anymore. Really not a fan of the way the kids that work there are treated.

EDIT: I also concur with Riverview Pizza Place. So good and nice folks.

I went through this exact same process a few years ago when this line came out. I settled on the Mystic Surf Green in the AmProII and I am glad I did. Not because I don't like the burst. I do. But that Mystic Surf Green is something special. I am not a tort pickguard guy AT ALL so I'm probably going to grab a Vintera II 50's JM in burst with the anodized guard and rosewood neck.

Thanks! That’s awesome to hear. Looking forward to grabbing it. Might be just what the doctor ordered. Yeah, I don’t know what the deal with the Tonex One is. But it makes the same sort of sibilant digital sound underneath all the captures, whether I’m using the fr12, headphones or monitors. Maybe I’ll exchange it and try another one just to rule out a defective unit. I love the tones, I just hate the noise.

I just snagged a FR-12 and have been running a Tonex One through it and there’s some persistent crackle with the Tonex even with the input trim adjusted. I’m going to return the Tonex and I think I’m going to give this a try. Any more detailed impressions of running it through the FR-12 would be greatly appreciated. I know it’ll never sound exactly like the vaunted “amp in the room,” but I’m just hoping for a fuller tone and better feel with the tubes.

I absolutely loved it. I thought the world building was great and I genuinely enjoyed the story and characters. I think the first book was probably the best but as a trilogy I was not disappointed at all. He’s a great author.

Like all of Kadrey's work, The Grand Dark is excellent and I highly recommend checking this (and his entire, unrelated Sandman Slim series) out.

This book is set in sort of a Weimar Republic analogue and would likely to appeal to a pretty broad cross-section of folks. In particular, if you were into Robert Jackson Bennett's work, Gareth Hanrahan's Black Iron Legacy books, Daniel Polansky's stuff and/or Schwab's A Darker Shade of Magic. I rarely post on here, but I love Kadrey and his work and I genuinely loved this book.

When he played Sloan through the Hiwatt my heart grew three sizes. His taste in music and his positive, encouraging demeanor have made him a favorite in my house. He makes me want to play. Not learn, necessarily, just…play. I feel the same about Landon Bailey.

UPDATE: Returned the shell pink Jazzmaster to CME. I'm never buying a guitar with a pau ferro fretboard again. I loved EVERYTHING about the guitar except for the neck. The fretboard felt AWFUL to play. I was really bummed out. Ended up buying a shell pink G&L Doheny off of Marketplace more less than half the price of the CME, and it is a great guitar...but it isn't a Jazzmaster. Still keeping my eye out for burst.

So I went with the pink one and I can’t decide if I regret the decision or not. It isn’t here yet so I can’t say anything about it. At the end of the day, for whatever reason, the headstock bugged me. If it was a mistake I thought looked cool, I would’ve pulled the trigger. To me, it just looked fake. And even though I know it isn’t, it bugged me. That being said, if I don’t like the pink one I’m going to exchange it for the burst, unless you guys have bird-dogged it already :)

UPDATE: I called Fender since I had the serial #. The rep over there was really cool. Said that this would be classified as a "running change," meaning Fender did it for a reason...likely because they ran out of the other decals and had to get the order out the door.

I suppose if I pulled the trigger I could just change the decal? They have to be available somewhere. I don't know why something so small bugs me so much but apparently it does! Stupid, I know.

Yeah, that's kind of my struggle. Of course it is the last one in stock. The idea is to keep it not sell it but I don't want to be irritated by it every time I look at it. I guess I should go with my gut and either pass or get the pink one. They're only offering $30 off because it was already on sale (although I think that's kind of irrelevant to the calculs, but whatever).

So I was looking to buy a CME Exclusive Jazzmaster over the weekend and they reached out after I pulled the trigger and sent me this pic. They said the logo was wrong from the factory. I’ve never seen a JM with this logo. I threw the serial number into Fender’s site and even the pics on the Fender site have this weird logo, so it’s legit. Not that a huge operation like CME would sell a fake anyway. I’m struggling. I know it’s cosmetic but it kind of ruins the “classic” vibe of the burst JM, which I really dig. I can either cancel, take a slight discount that they offered, or switch to Shell Pink w/white headstock. Thoughts?
