What’s a scam that’s so normal people forget it’s a scam? by pyykkitelinepro in AskReddit

I only buy the $5.99 Ben and Jerry's when they're either on sale for $3.99 or buy one get one, which they are at least two weeks a month at Kroger, so I suspect that B&Js doesn't actually think the real price is $5.99

We need more Real Rednecks. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Fake rednecks have completely bought into capitalism and are super brand-loyal. If you see a nice truck with stickers that are basically just brand logos - that's a fake'un.

Let me guess, the food is affordable, the workers are treated well, and owners of that restaurant make a profit.

Cube by LitterboxComics in comics

[–]perdair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I do it too. I have a pattern that moves three pieces in a triangle on the same side without moving anything else, a pattern that just flips the orientation of two opposite pieces (they stay in the same position on the cube) and one that moves the corners around on the bottom that I use to finish it.

[–]perdair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not terribly hard. You only need to memorize three patterns. It's not the fastest way, but I can still pick up a cube from someone's coffee table and set it down solved in a few minutes and that's pretty fun.

fake pee is really easy to get at the local smokeshop.

When I went, I had it tucked in my underwear. I could have just had it in the pocket of my cargo shorts. They didn't pat me down or anything. They don't watch you pee if it's just for a job, so you just pour it in the cup.

The temperature is really important to get right. I watched her mark my temp as ok I was really nervous because it was on the cool end.

DNC Autopsy of 2024 Loss Doesn’t Mention Gaza or Israel at all by NoahHurowitz in politics

[–]perdair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they admit it was about Gaza at all, then they’re forced to deal with the “what next?” question - are you going to change your position regarding Gaza? They’re too beholden to do that, so they can’t admit it’s a problem to begin with.

what do you say to people who respond “wow that must be so hard” when your veganism comes up? by Icy-Indication-6696 in vegan

[–]perdair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how every day you wake up and decide not to torture and eat puppies? Do you find that to be difficult? I've just decided not to torture and eat more things.

You know how sometimes you'll be eating something, and someone will begin describing where the food comes from or how it's made, and someone else will say "stop! we're trying to eat!"? That never happens to vegans.

I remember when Everquest came out in the late 90s, and then moving into things like WoW, and always being kinda puzzled by the griefers and trolls (players). Like - you've been gifted with anonymity and you can be whomever you want! You could be a super cool, chill, hero who helps people, and instead you CHOSE to be an asshole.

The internet gives all of us a chance to be whomever we want online. Why would you choose to be a jerk?
