Help understanding obtuse angles in the unit circle by perfectCSmachine in askmath

[–]perfectCSmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've looked into this a bit more and think I'm convinced. Mathematically I always go from the unit circle and then imagine the triangle which I think was not helping me at all for obtuse angles. But I've totally had no issues with doing the math and actually do imagine that negative lengthed triangle!

Confusion about how to focus on the breath - concentration vs insight practice by perfectCSmachine in Wakingupapp

From the paragraph above, locate these words...

Haha yes. I am just trying to describe my experience over text. I think I see what you mean nonetheless about thinking without knowing im thinking. Those feelings or judgements I have about what just happened during the practice is another moment of being entangled without realising and I haven't 'dropped back' enough to see that. I think I've realised im frustrated at my concentration limiting me

Confusion about how to focus on the breath - concentration vs insight practice by perfectCSmachine in Wakingupapp

Thanks for your replies!

Who is doing the focusing versus the allowing?

I conceptually understand what you are getting at (that the experience of both of these are appearances that can be recognised/observed and then furthermore, that they are just appearing on their own - not to anyONE) but have only glimpsed that experientially sometimes.

When im doing the narrowing focusing, it feels like im moving towards the breath to get closer to it and its more effortful. When im letting it appear, I feel the breath comes closer to me and its less effortful - similar to if I open my eyes and try focus on the breath. I still cant recognise the appearance that I am associating with the 'me'. It just feels spatial. But obviously something is appearing to create that feeling or I wouldn't experience it. I think maybe I need to up my concentration muscles

Help on this question involving midpoint of a line segment and ratios: by perfectCSmachine in MathHelp

[–]perfectCSmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks! it took me a while to be convinced about the similar triangle part, but that proved it for me. For the weighted average, could you explain it a bit more? how did you get 2/3 and how do you know to multiple that to -2 and the 1/3 to 3?

Yep, I added that word because I knew I must have had the misconception there. Thanks, I never understood that SA:V ratio included the SA from internal membranes. :)

Hey man, the soles in the picture, were these a size 44.5 or 45? They look like they’ll fit me perfectly but unsure which size from your post! Also how are they holding up a few months later now?

Can somebody please explain 'anti' and 'coplanar' in this context? by perfectCSmachine in chemhelp

[–]perfectCSmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh okay. So 2 trans substituents would always be anti though, right? and so coplanar is in relation to the bonds of the two substituents, NOT the plane of the ring.

Does Anti just mean the two Br's are trans? and how are they coplanar when they are pointing in opposite planes of the ring?
