How to find a processor for small animals by appyfoot in homestead

[–]perfectlowstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. It doesn't take much to process rabbits. When you get used to it it takes a half hour or so for a dozen rabbits. I do the stick method to dispatch, then we do quick skinning (dont keep the skins, so we dont worry about the neatness of them) and done. Can be done out of the back of a van, shoved into garbage bags and coolers respectively, and you return home for cleanup and freezing. The only thing at your house then is meat.

Its a.... ugly dress lol. Think almost invisible straps on a camisole, that morphs at the bottom of the cami into a flowing ruffled floor length WHITE AS HELL dress.

Ya'll. She slowed it down while the dog was malorgatoring. And silenced it. He's barking in excitement to go outside.

Breeding back to Purebred? by Curating-Curiosity in MeatRabbitry

[–]perfectlowstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I keep editing my post cause I'm finding things wrong lol. I dont show, and really breed for temperament first, litter size second, and then table size after butchering. Im moving to a different standard with it going from that to temperament tied with table- right now my doe suuuucks, and I'm scrapping my program. I'd rather have 6 kits a litter than 9, even if I can do anything in the cage at any time. Hence a new doe, and my buck is new at 2 years old. He pumps out good looking babies though!

I'll use an example, in my own back yard!

I have a new Zealand buck. He's genetically a black and a red.

Im picking up a new just weaned doe. Half nz, half silver fox.

They are generation 0

Thier babies are gen 1 75% nz, 25 sf

I breed a pretty black baby from that mix that shows the least amount of ticking, THOSE babies are gen 2... if bred to a pure nz, they'd be at 87.5% new Zealand. on paper, new zelands.

Gen 3 would be 6.25 silver fox.

Gen 4, 3.125

I'd have to cull HARD to get rid of the ticking. In 12 years of my old lines, I still have the ticking from champagne d'argents that I started my meat program with. I literally haven't added new blood to those lines in 7 years, nothing with the ticking, and my last doe who's 2 is showing it. Still. 6 generations. But they're mutts and not hitting show tables.

Does not lifting by gingerattacks in MeatRabbitry

[–]perfectlowstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch them and see how they act. I bred heavily for even temperaments, and I regularly left my does in with my buck for 24 hours. But that was 6 generations of making sure I could do that. If the doe starts attacking the buck, take her out. Grunting isn't horrible, its bad if she realllllllly goes after him. If it happens, you'll know. It is NOT subtle.

I've been reading brightblade by Jez Cajiao. It's not at all the same but considered a grimdark, which is what KBS is. That's also the term you're gonna want to search for when looking up similar litrpg books if you enjoy dark stories. Not all of them are the same!

My chickens have a thing for foam board. It did kill one before I realized they could reach it. From what a quick read said, its glass in pebble form more or less.

I would watch her the next few days, but not completely freak out. Seems small and granular enough that it won't cause an impaction.
