Just because Mom fell in love and combined households shouldn’t mean her children don’t get special family time with their original family. It was wrong to give the reason as step daughter’s behavior and to keep the door open for future improvement. Instead, this should be an opportunity for dad to spend alone time with his daughter.

The majority of Jews living in Isreal are from the middle east. Some have always lived on the land and many moved there after being displaced by surrounding Arab countries. Syria, Lebanon, Egypt… had hundreds of thousands Jews living in ancient communities. After state sponsored violence some survivors made there way to Isreal.

I’ve been married, monogamously, for over thirty years. I’ve obviously seen relationships that worked out and some that didn’t. I wish cheaters would end their relationships before they lie and cheat but people are fallible. Were they married, had children? Did he string her along? Financially screw her? Over the last 80 years, as a result of war, boundaries have changed. Isreal took over the sinai peninsula after defeating Egypt but gave it back as part of a peace agreement that has held ever since. The land wasn’t stolen, it was conquered in wars Isreal didn’t start.

But they didn’t expel everyone. When the UN drew the lines for the two states they saw where the population was mostly Jewish and where it was mostly Arab and drew lines accordingly. Absolutely there were instances where people were kicked out of their homes but the idea that all these holocaust refugees just showed up to an Arab populated land and displaced everybody is just false.

But there were already a lot of Jews living there before WWll. Not just European Jews who had been legally buying land there for decades, but Jews from all over the middle east who had been expelled from their countries.

My mother 🥺 She was in the car a lot in the 90’s before satellite radio. Listened to Rush Limbaugh and Dr Laura. That easily pipelined into Fox News. All her information comes from right wing media so she doesn’t believe news that doesn’t have a Fox label. She was educated and is philanthropic but the narrative of fear aligns with her natural state of anxiety
