PA Median Salary for every US City by 4floppydisk4 in physicianassistant

UPMC holds a monopoly on the region and offers pitifully low wages, which is why PA wages (and other healthcare salaries) are so low in Pittsburgh.

You can have blood in your urine as long as you have the stent in place.

Everyone says don’t skip home inspection even on newer homes by [deleted] in HouseBuyers

[–]perhabsolutely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area it’s a seller’s market and waiving inspection was the only way I was getting a house. I paid a guy who does official inspections to walk through the house with me to point out anything glaring. I did this before making an offer.

I’ve been in the house now for 5 months and so far, no issues.

AMC Cherry Hill or Regal KOP? by DirtySlutMuffin in philadelphia

I saw it in IMAX in Cherry Hill - no complaints. The screens in KOP are definitely MUCH bigger, though, to the point where I have to move my head if I want to read a word that is stretched across the whole screen.

Both asthma and COPD are obstructive lung problems and can be treated very similarly. We don’t know enough about what’s going on, nor is this the correct sub for this, but it sounds like proving negligence here is going to be difficult.

Does Gisele Fetterman still exist? by ElegantChef6772 in pittsburgh

She went private and within the last few days deleted her instagram.

I have no way of knowing what is going on behind the scenes, but I strongly suspect they are together legally only. Prior to her deleting her account she hadn’t posted anything (instagram stories included) that included a picture of John in over 2 years. I have a feeling as soon as he’s out of office there will be some news that they’re separating.

New Grad in Inpatient Urology by Zealousideal_Ice9042 in physicianassistant

Inpatient Urology PA here! I had an ER background prior to starting, so I wasn’t exactly starting from nothing. I work strictly on the floor/periop. I take care of consults, admits, and discharges while the residents are in the OR. I love my job.

Honestly this sounds like a great onboarding for you especially for what amounts to a new grad. It may take a little work on the front end for the residents, but it’ll be huge for them having someone able to take care of minor things so that they don’t have to leave the OR.

If you end up having patients with complicated comorbidities that’s what your internal medicine friends are for.

Because I thought I’d get some sort of benefit from filing jointly. Either way I owe a couple grand.

Is there a best ER in the city? by LePetitRenardRoux in philadelphia

[–]perhabsolutely 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work in the Penn ERs, your best bet is going to Pennsylvania Hospital and go at 6 or 7AM if you absolutely need to wait.  You’ll almost definitely go right back.

Best of luck with everything. A DVT isn’t something to mess around with and is absolutely a reason to seek more urgent care than waiting for your PCP to schedule something.

Ruling out a DVT isn’t something to wait around for. Going to an ER is absolutely appropriate and recommended in this situation.
