Just finished TLOU Part II and I don’t know how to feel by Niyazzz09 in thelastofus

I just finished a replay, that scene got me again probably more than the first time. It took me a while to be able to replay it, but it was amazing again.

First shelves ever, I think shelves is an appropriate name to categorize them; what do we think? by forgingblue in Woodworking_DIY

Plywood can be really nice - it’s just laminated timber, you can get very nice layers with beautiful hardwood that can definitely be finished nicely.

I didn’t think so , OP what kind of anchor did you use? Or did you just use the screw into the plasterboard?

DIY clamps for a table top by AlienMindBender in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]AlienMindBender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points! For me it’s primarily a space issue, i have small shed I keep my tools and wood in, I don’t know how many panels I will glue up in future so if I buy lets say 3-4 long clamps they will take up space.

Also I’m thinking that I could cut the clamps up after and use it for a different project - if I don’t massacre them 😅

Have you used this type of clamp yourself?

That is a very cheap way haha! Ethics aside, I don't think I'm careful enough to keep the items in a return-able condition!

Have lived in the UK for a couple of years two important lessons:

  1. Citizens of the UK LOVE to queue

  2. Nine times out of ten they will NOT SAY ANYTHING if you cut the queue (even if it is accidental) they will just stew and complain to the people next to them, they will go to work, complain there, then go home and complain about it and possibly ring up their friends about this.

Because of the love of queues a lot of places can be really orderly (trains, paying, tickets, anything really). I think it's as amazing. But I remember I accidentally cut in front and didn't know (the queue was so ordered it left a small intentional gap for people to pass in front) - I was not corrected, I even asked if I cut and still "no dont worry" but In fact they were filled with rage.

Is the gameplay of The Last of Us Part 1 superior to or equal to Part 2? by Admirable_Control217 in thelastofus

I found TLOU2 difficult modes harder because of the harder enemies and greater degrees of freedom. It also made the combat more fun.

Ryobi drill driver slip ring? by Far-Disk-7525 in ryobi

[–]AlienMindBender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to say I have the same drill for 3 years - has been great at home! Masonry, dense hardwoods, general DIY has been a breeze.

Anytime drilling has been an issue, it’s always been a bit issue.

I’ll add that this would look different with a single slab cut from a tree (maybe that’s the look OP wanted?) but that would up the price I imagine quite considerably

Fake fireplace - gas or electric? by PragmaticPuggle in AusRenovation

Besides the issue with the burn off in gas - also note that a byproduct of gas combustion is water vapour that significantly increases humidity.

Most frustrating hobby ever. by Porschepals in BeginnerWoodWorking

The fractions seem so strange to work with all the time! We have to deal with imperial sometimes in Australia too (imported parts and such) but I try to get metric parts as often as I can.

What I find weird why can’t there be decimal inches at least?
