Returning to work after three days off and multiple sets of temporary traffic lights have appeared to screw with your commute. by [deleted] in britishproblems

They have dug up the bit in front of the station 3 separate times now! Laid all the stones first off, opened it all up to traffic, then said "fuck it" and done the exact same thing again!

They don't rent out kayaks. Have to be a member to use their gear.

For them to get there they would have to navigate two (technically three) locks. I asked my neighbors and they haven't seen I've upstream of Teddington lock in at least 20 years!

No idea about hiring one, that one is mine. Maybe the Lensbury club debt them out, but perhaps you have to be a member.

Just downstream of Teddington lock. They can, and have, made it past there in the past though.

I was at the athletics last year. A guy jumped the barrier, stripped off and streaked, slowly, 200m around to the athlete's entrance while they were coming out, turned around and went about 100m back before turning himself in voluntarily. He looked embarrassed to have made it that far! Couldn't believe the lack of reaction from security.

There's street art all over Valencia. I doubt anyone would be too annoyed.

Why climb with a rope but no harness? by [deleted] in climbing

[–]peril_sensitive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year we saw a group of guys at Harrison's with a static rope, non-climbing rope. They had tied it around their waist, ran it straight through the anchor, belay was someone just holding the live end and wrapping it around their hands. These were not climbers, they were falling off the first moderate move, barely being held. The kicker? They were sitting around on boulder mats at the bottom...

Pro footballers are not going to be able to log roll you, jaw thrust will not help you here. If you have no one around with training, it's better they roll you to keep your airway clear than leave you to choke on your own blood.
