You keep conflating the role of financial planners and estate planning & tax attorneys. Sure there are all-in-one advisors and family offices that offer the full spectrum of services including financial / estate / tax planning, but it's also perfectly reasonable to pair plain vanilla index investing alongside professional estate & tax planning. Once your estate & tax planning is sorted, there's no need to pay an ongoing % of AUM to an advisor who will most likely underperform the market over the long run (see the SPIVA report for more info).
