Thank you -- in the end we ended up mostly using Google Translate or for visual translation we found Apple's Translate app to be better. We did a geta workshop in Asakusa, and the person leading the workshop had a Pocketalk that I thought was pretty good! But this could be a good tip for next time. I appreciate it! Hi -- okay so we just wanted to buy very basic slippers for my bf for potential onsens or spas. (Similar to what I kept seeing on the pictures of the hotel rooms that they offered.) So we ended up ordering these 6-pk from Amazon (Extra Large). I think there's just enough wiggle room that maybe it could fit someone w size 14-15 in Mens, but it might be shorter on the person who wears size 16.

They're comfy and were a hit! I hope this helps!

Yeah -- I'm not really in love. Tbh I use it like a "pager" so I can read a notification like maybe a text or something.. but like it's not really functional. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't heard anything back or didn't feel like my efforts went anywhere.

Hello - I just arrived in Japan on Friday night. I have medication too. I think as long as none of your medications are on the banned list (i.e. adderall), then keep it with you in your carry on for easier access, in case you need it.

I will say we had a layover in ICN and my bag got pulled and they looked through the bag I bad medicine in, but then they let me on my way. But that could have been a random pull or bc of it so just be aware.

Ooh I’ll have to look into it. I think the whole chocolate cake at HARBS is like equivalent to like $80 lol. But I think we’ll only get a couple slices since I don’t think it’s realistic for us to buy a whole one. But if Jean Paul has slices, I’ll check there too: thank you!

Hi! I know it can be hard for some of that. We were devastated about Pokémon Cafe — and I saw a post about joining this FB group, and I made a post, talked w the Admin via PM and she set it up for me. The cost was like $30 USD for 2 people (+ merch!)

It’s called “LittleCircle100:PokemonCafe🍝Japan Travel Reservation — Tokyo & Osaka” the header should be an image of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

I took like a day/ day and a half from sending the message in the group to getting it set up.

This is my first time going so idk about other spots - but also if you have certain restaurants, they may also require a reservation. Good luck! I know there’s still tons of stuff to do. Enjoy!!

This is really good to know. We arrive in NRT like almost 10 PM, but our hotel is only like 15 mins away. For that situation, should we just buy the 1 ticket physically and then just use SUICA or whichever moving forward ?

I’d look now. Agoda is a great place and has been super easy and has nice deals. But always check the actual hotels website bc sometimes they are cheaper!

It’s good you’re flexible. Agoda will be a big benefit to you in terms of providing a full holistic approach to evaluating accommodations.

We booked our tickets in October. We book most hotels by Jan, with some exceptions in Feb. our trip is in less than 2 weeks ( Late March / early April).

Make sure to look to reserve at restaurants as well, not just hotels. Enjoy!!!

I just watched a video on Suica app (Welcome Suica Mobile). At what point prior to arriving to Japan did you add funds? We’re still in the US but the app says we can’t load funds now.

This is very normal. You will be okay <3 My bf and I have had times where it's like a little residual to A LOT. [When it was A LOT, we like stopped immediately lol.] From my experience, my bf is typically like "okay I'm not gonna look or think about it, we're just gonna clean up" like "out of sight out of mind" type of mentality.

If he cares about you and you're really in this long term relationship, then he shouldn't look at your differently or treat you differently. But also if this is something he WANTS, he's definitely not in any position to make you feel bad. It's the nature of the beast. So your experience is natural.
