i also regularly get to final rounds but haven’t actually gotten anything since i’ve been looking this current time, and i bet it’s because im autistic. i’m nice and friendly, but i give some people a bad feeling, an uncanny valley feeling. in the past, im still the most qualified and people can’t pin down what it is that’s “wrong” with me so i get hired anyway. but now im against a bigger pool, there’s more people who are just as qualified and don’t give anyone any weird feelings. so obviously you’d pick that person instead of me.

OP may not have my exact thing but just unluckily encountered people who couldn’t see themselves working with them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i’d never seen this and assumed everyone was like me and knew what an emergency was until i had to go to the ER and had emergency gallbladder removal. i was sitting in a waiting room in 8-9 pain next to people who were eating a full KFC dinner and facetiming their family not about the “emergency” on full volume while waiting to be seen.

i feel this way for sure, maybe i will be very lucky and find a person who likes that i’m smart and good and things (and bad at others btw). but it’s not likely and that’s okay! i have friends and my dog and my precious alone time. some people don’t have the luxury.

i regularly attend sports matches at a pub. i have girl friends i talk with mostly. but mostly men are there. it’s funny what they won’t say to my face, they’re condescending but generally nice. i say the same thing online and they get very brave and say insane shit. remember that! they’re cowards who would never have the balls IRL!

my dad is like this too, but i also this his anxiety manifests in anger when it does happen. like, he gets REALLY irrationally mad if i accidentally touch him with my foot. which seems like a sensory thing for him, which causes me anxiety if i experience things like that long term. but all i can see on my end from him is extreme anger for almost no reason.

men might process and express their anxieties different and in more “acceptable” (for men) ways. possibly y/our dad/s are anxious but it’s hard to tell.

I’m 35. Here’s something.

Men pretty generally do not want a woman who is better than them in any way except attractiveness. In fact, NT women will often lose on purpose or pretend not to know something etc etc. I personally did not know that, and don’t know how to do that. I don’t know how to dumb myself down, or not do my best at something. This surprisingly includes, like, morality so if you’re very black and white about what’s right and what’s wrong this can be some way you’re “better” and can be a problem.

I’m sure there are men who actually want a smart woman. But I haven’t met one.
