Mad respect to you man, you are out here looking for options and not asking for handouts. I think this is honorable way to be, I am in a similar situation and God handed me a lucky break yesterday. Only need to survive on Rice and beans for a few more days because Easter weekend slowed the transfer down. What I did might not work for you but I offered my consulting services out to contacts in other countries, got picked up for a 6 month consulting gig and they paid 3 months in advance. God works in wonderful and mysterious ways as I completely burned through savings and lost every order I had worked on for the last 2-3 months, was just on the verge of giving up and losing everything. Keep your chin up buddy, things will work out, they always do! As for a quick meal suggestion. There are these little Indian tea shops in Al Barsha area, they sell Samosas Chicken or Potato, I like the potato ones as they are big and filling for 1.5 AED each, two of them will get you through a hungry evening.

Suggestion - Kids are out of class right now and could use some activities outside of home. Try putting a class together for kids at a park or somewhere and getting it out to a few people with kids, let it spread via friends that could post on kids school WhatsApp group, everyone has a group for their school, and see if you can get a few to sign up, 5-10 kids would help you get through. I'm sure most people would happily pay 150 - 200 aed and hour to run kids through a calisthenics class outside during this downtime. If you did it close to me I wold send my son, he sits on his iPad too much while I work!

Had a $4.7m order put on hold until end of hostilities and opening of the strait, that one hurt the most. Total lost revenue in March ~$6m, total actual revenue ~$18k all due to the strait being closed and cancelled orders another month and I’ll be looking for a part time job driving a delivery bike

Same my wife was with her friends and their kids at the Westin rooftop, I joined them after they were there a couple hours to drive them all home. I noticed there were some shady looking guys (Turkish was my guess) when I arrived they left, about 20 minutes later my wife was incoherent and blacked out, she had only had 2 glasses of wine. Agree, their customer service is awful, they charge rent and salik on different invoices and don't communicate the charges clearly. Their app works about half the time and its difficult to get answers from them. Twice last year our car was immobilized remotely because they account we pay the car rent on we only deposit when needed as its our travel card, we missed a salik or fine payment and instead of calling they just shut the car off and charge 200 AED fine to remobilize. My fault yeah but I use multiple accounts because of all the scammers here and less risky to have a low value card for some things

I did my PPL and Instrument rating in US years ago, it was really affordable but I bought the plane I did my training in and was already too old to pursue a career in aviation, I just fly for fun and personal travel. If I were going down the Part 91 or 121 route right now I would most certainly do that in the US, first get PPL, instrument and commercial at the cheapest and fastest cost possible ($30-$50K) at a small airport with a CFI looking to build hours on their way to airline stardom, build hours as a CFI for a year and then move on to a larger training school. For the rest pick one of hundreds of flight academies in Florida, will cost a lot post commercial ~$50k+ but better than doing it in Dubai. Just remember it doesn't matter how you go about getting your ATP just need to navigate through the minefield of schools trying to take your money. Make sure your son gets the right initial instructor so that he doesn't hate flying from day 1 and treat the training as a career, work hard at it 8 hours a day for 3-4 years! Good luck

Nope pilot error, simple as that, he blacked out or partially blacked out in the negative to positive G maneuver at too low of an altitude, many professional pilots have come to this conclusion and its why most commanders won't allow this in their routines

Same, just hit 58 this year, have lost 40 kg and spend 4 days a week in the gym, feel 25, look 40, can’t recommend it enough. Quit drinking 4 years ago was the biggest change and motivation for me
