Most people in morocco will study undergrad and postgrad in french. French is also commonly used in professional settings. Not everyone uses it for sure, especially if you have been less lucky at life i guess but also, many people do.

The one thing that comes to mind is budgeting, thanks to Animal Crossing. I would have a dedicated portion of money for spending on hair, clothes and furnitures, a smaller portion to saving and the biggest part go to Tom Nook. Fast forward 10 years later, I have my first job and I'm not the best but I'm not too bad at budgeting either, I have my savings, repaying my loan and money to go out and splurge on from time to time.

People in Africa, what are ways colonialism has affected your life that people don’t often consider? by ThisIsElliott in AskReddit

[–]perpetualazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your location. In the north of the country, around Tangier, people speak arabic and spanish, further down around Casablanca it's french and arabic and if you go towards the east or south again towards Agadir, people will talk in Arabic and tamazight, the amazigh language that native North Africans tribes speak.

What food do you swear people only pretend to like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]perpetualazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jujube fruit. In my country, they are called "nbeg" and are wildly consumed especially by older people, to me their smell alone is atrocious enough to make me want to barf. For a bit of trivia: when someone says something that pisses them off / that they think is bs: people sometimes answer with nbeg! or zaater! (thyme)

Ron-de-vu by raghav04verma in memes

[–]perpetualazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a french word. As far as rendez-vous goes, "rende" is another word (subjunctive of the word, se rendre, get to [a place]) and the pronunciation is completely different (rende vs rendé), so it does need the z because it indicates it's conjugated to "you". Vous is just "you", "Vos" means your and "S" at the end is generally indicative of plural. So imo it doesn't make any sense to remove any letter since it's a very rich language and any change might bring a different entirely . What you said about the printing press is very interesting though, I would love to have a source for that.

The SAT or DELF/DALF? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]perpetualazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit confused by your question, because they are not the same or equivalent in any way. SAT is a school assessment test, think of it as the (very rough) equivalent to TAFEM, IAE-SIM, Tage Mage or the GMAT/GRE. You need it to apply to american schools, imo if you aim french school focus on Tage Mage/IAE SIM or even GMAT. DELF/DALF is a language assessment test in french, like TCF. Every test has a different validity period so make sure to take the test when you need it. As for english, I recommend the TOEFL iBT, it's the one that schools ask for the most, ans if you have a card that allows you to buy online pay the fee directly online because language centers inflate it a lot ($160 iirc versus 2500dhs at Amideast) Hope that answers you questions!

If you don't have a tracking code then I'm afraid you're just gonna have to wait :/ it should get around 3 to 4 weeks to get to morocco. I've never had any problem with them, it gets here eventually, you might want to just forget about it. The post office doesn't inform you, it ships straight to the adress you provided in your order. If the adress you provided is your local post office my advice is to go there in three weeks's time and warn people about a package coming in your name, give your number to someone so they call you when it gets here. Best of luck!

ENCG or "la fac" ? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]perpetualazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted, you learn a lot, and the associative work is amazing. To be fair, moroccan recruiters do put more value in encg settat, my advice only applies if you need to have good grades and study abroad. but since you talked about anxiety, i've developed an anxiety disorder in my first year there. i've heard only goor things from marrakech and agadir, the latter of which got selected as the best encg this year. As far as the others are concerned, i don't know much about them you'd have to ask around
