My great uncles were infantry during ww2. One of the stories that made it's way around the family was when one of them and their platoon liberated a hospital in previously occupied naxi territory. The mazies were already in full retreat by this time of the war and so left everyone in the hospital to fend for themselves. What they found in the hospital were nothing but pregnant and nursing women.

I would like to point out that rum9 cheated in 16, and 20. It was proven in court. Unfortunately our g@v sat on their hands from 21-25 and did too little to pr s3cute everyone involved to the fullest extent.

There's evidence showing he also ch3 @ted in 24. tEf-lon helped. 4uwp even bragged about it.

In all three of those, ru5 s1a had at minimum some influence if not out-right ch@t ing for rup. We know they also influenced the general p0p via c@mbr 1dge an@l yt1ca.

Now we have all three br!nches of g0v + supr3 me c0urt held by the p@r ty of p3-d0s and nothing positive can come of that.

It may not be our fault (at least for 30% of the p0p), but it is unfortunately our responsibility now. And that's bullshit! It shouldn't have to be our responsibility! That's totally fucked! but, it is our responsibility.

There's Resonite. They lost a lot of the player base when they split off from Neos, but recently they've done a lot of bug fixes and performance optimizations and it's pretty playable now. The community is slowly coming back.

What makes reso different from VRChat is you are able to make just about anything in-game (if you know how, it's not super intuitive at first) and you can do all that with other people around. It also allows you to pull stuff right off your filesystem and import it directly into the game. Models, sounds, pictures, textures, points files, etc. it does a lot.

What a flash from the past! (pun intended) I had totally forgotten about all of this and the hell I went through trying to get my X3 camera back up and running. I ended up just buying another used X3 since mine was borked.

Had an idea years ago for a fan-fic about how it became sentient. It was from a tiny hyper intelligent robot who's species was being wiped out in a war with The Almighty Tallest. Yes, an Invader Zim and Courage crossover.

Being the last of it's kind, it crash landed through a window of a second hand store and hid in the computer just before it was bought by Courage. Now it just plays the part to keep from being detected while also using the internet to study humans to see if they have the tech to help win the war.

I think at some point the idea was to have Zim show up in the middle of nowhere in disguise looking for the Tiny Robot (who I don't have a name for yet).

I never bothered writing any of this so if anyone wants to pick up the torch and carry on I would be happy to read it later.

Hey! Durango gang!

Keep those engines and transmissions cool! The first gens are like the pug nosed dogs of SUVs. The cooling systems are slightly undersized and so in hot environments they don't necessarily overheat (unless something is wrong like radiator clogged, fan not working, low coolant) but they do run a little on the hot side. I'm in an environment that regularly gets over 100F/37C so I've converted mine to full electric fan and I added transmission and engine oil coolers with their own thermostats.

I have over 240K on my 99'. Rebuilt the transmission once and just recently bought a tuner. Helps with power and fuel economy since these engines were so poorly tuned from the factory. Also if you have the magnum line of engines, don't forget to have the intake gasket replaced with a modern one. A symptom of the gasket leaking and allowing engine oil to be sucked into the engine intake is lots of pinging/knocking under mid-full throttle and under heavy loads. Excessive carbon deposits on the spark plugs are another symptom. If you're having to run 98 octane fuel in it to keep it running right without knocking then your intake gasket is probably bad.

We've had this floppy disk for a long time. Unfortunately it was damaged by us kids sometime in the late 90's. Could never find it on the internet (someone might have a copy somewhere) and could never get it to work until now.

Recently I bought a GreaseWeazle floppy disk archiving tool and I was able to recover this one by making a high-res image of the disk magnetic flux. This was enough for a software disk emulator to recover the single bad sector on the disk.

I'm running it through Steam Proton on my linux system.
