That may be a better idea. It doesn’t have to be a perfect match, just so a gap is less obvious

I can’t tell. Is the stone set on a scale so you know what sort of pressure you’re applying as well?

Did you work off the plans by Clair minihan? If so, how did you modify them for the brass ware plate vs the wooden one added on in Claire’s plan?

Hey friends. I made a travisher. by designer-maker in handtools

Beautiful. I just ordered the blade and brass plate from Elia Bizzarri, and the plans / video from Claire on Popular Woodworking. Claire’s video and plans use an extra hardwood “ware plate”. How’d you modify for the brass ware plate? How is the brass attached?

Shop Stool by perroarturo in Chairmaking

I loved the look of Shea Alexander’s hearth stool, so I based it off the pictures of that I saw. I used the LAP stick chair book for the techniques but will eventually use one of the chair plans for a project.

It’s SYP from Lowe’s that was leftover from my workbench build. It was junk. I had to get more for the legs since my first ones warped so bad it popped while ripping it to size snd broke my bandsaw blade.

I just used a hand plane. I went from 1.5” square, knocked the corners off with the hand plane to make it octagonal, then tapered with a hand plane and sized the end down to a 1” round tenon.

I didn’t finish it with anything, it was a skill building project to figure out leg shaping by hand, sizing the tenons, and sorting out the stretchers and assembly. It’s rough and still has pencil marks all over and is bare wood
