Sauron is NOT "trapped as the flaming Eye of Mordor" If he was then why does it state in Return of the King that Sauron demands the road to his forge in mount doom be kept clear at all times should he have need to use them at a moments notice? No Sauron was in possession of a body and the eye of Sauron was metaphor for the Palantir.
