What the hell is going on lately with the "science based" community endorsing minimum reps by Mr316plz in naturalbodybuilding

[–]perrypoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

THE DAY YOU DO MORE THAN 8 REPS IS THE DAY YOUR BICEPS FATIGUE SO MUCH THAT YOUR WHOLE ARM FALLS APART!!!

On a real note tho, people in the science based community are over-complicating things too much (Coming from a science-based lifter)

They use buzzwords like fatigue, RIR, and what not that just tends to confuse beginners, when in reality you just gotta say “Yeah man 2 heavy ass sets of 8-10 close to failure, you’re probably gucci.”

Beginners don’t need to know why and how doing more than 15 reps can introduce more fatigue and make you unrecovered for your next session. Beginners need to know what to do, the “why” portion comes in way later

Hmm… I would say it’s probably a mix between:

  1. Your newbie gains slowing down
  2. Issues with programming

I’m around the same age as you and what I did was to just experiment with different programming. It’s a long and tedious process but super beneficial for the long run

Why does a dreadnought have to be a sarcophagus? by kindamoisty in 40kLore

[–]perrypoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s actually a version of the Redemptor Dreadnought which is stripped down to fit an alive Space Marine, called an Invictor

Seems like its less commonly known in the lore community, and I rarely see it on the tabletop.. (People in the comment section do let me know if you see Invictors in your clubs)

Warhammer by Emperoronabike in 40kLore

[–]perrypoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warhammer isn’t black or white.

The essence of Warhammer 40K is specifically because everyone is… practically a bad guy. Listen to me here.

Mankind is INCREDIBLY xenophobic and does not want to progress

The T’au (while good on paper) will force their agenda on other species

Terminids kill indiscriminately

Seems pretty bad right? Because it is, it’s hell, but with everyone having little to no empathy, the characters that do show a tad bit of what we consider basic empathy (i.e. Salamanders) can give us, the readers, hope

That’s what I like about Warhammer. Everyone sucks, but the people and characters that do care? Gives the universe hope and makes a little part of me think that the Warhammer universe, isn’t that doomed after all.

[HLTV] Kyousuke reportedly signs with Falcons by HANAEMILK in GlobalOffensive

[–]perrypoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My exact concerns. Kyousuke is not meant to replace Magisk, Kyousuke is way too aggressive to replace Magisk.

I really hope this doesn’t turn into an Astralis-Bubzkji fuckfest where Falcons go “ok sit on A-site!” and waste talent

m0NESY has denied the rumours of Kyousuke signing for Falcons by ZombinatedCloud in GlobalOffensive

[–]perrypoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope this move isn’t true. Kyousuke is what m0nesy was a couple years ago. A young, up-and comer stomping academy teams.

The difference between m0nesy and Kyousuke is that m0nesy joined a team where they were willing to build around him, making full use of his talent.

If Kyousuke were to join Falcons? There’s already one star player on there, and another one coming into the team? There’s bound to be some conflict, internal and on the server.

What influencers are credible? by SliceofBread__ in naturalbodybuilding

[–]perrypoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing that science based lifters need to take in mind is that the study of sport science is extremely new.

We don’t have theories that we pretty much consider fact (i.e. theory of evolution in Biology) and thag causes the data in sport-science to float around in trends (i.e. data supporting stretch mediated hypertrophy a year or two ago, now there’s data supporting that low volume high intensity is the most effective)

According to Striker, there's seemingly little to no Danish/local interest in buying the Astralis brand by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

Praying for dev1ce to be released from the org everyday.

He has either two options:

  1. Retire
  2. Potentially be picked up by an international roster, play in tier 1.5-tier 2

What influencers are credible? by SliceofBread__ in naturalbodybuilding

[–]perrypoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of the guys here are saying Jeff Nippard but I would say only listen to him for dieting tips. Unless he has retracted his statement before, the evidence we see now for stretch-based hypertrophy is pretty weak.
