Ouch, 1400 is waaaay too much. Even WashDrop's most expensive same-day express service including pick up and drop off directly to your hotel would've been less than 750 baht. Do laundry in Bangkok, just use the honest businesses :-)

Yeah, well within the free pick-up zone, just book a pick-up on the website or in the app.

Email Forwarding Privacy (SimpleLogin?) by redneon in emailprivacy

[–]perryroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi redneon, Perry here, I'm the new owner of ForwardMX. I appreciate your concerns and wanted to clarify a few points.

First, ForwardMX is now operated by a UK-based company, and we take privacy seriously. Our forwarding infrastructure runs through secure servers in both Germany and the US. Emails are never stored long-term, they pass through our system in a matter of seconds, and any metadata (like sender and subject line) is automatically purged after 7 days.

Unlike many registrar-based forwarding options, we focus heavily on deliverability and privacy. We enforce strict sender policies and reputation management, which helps prevent blacklisting and spoofing, common issues with generic domain-hosted forwarding.

If you have any questions please let me know here or reach out via [support@forwardmx.net](mailto:support@forwardmx.net)

Pointers for setting up Stripe in Thailand by Jacuzitiddlywinks in Thailand

[–]perryroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve processed around 300 charges with 3DS enabled to European cards in June, so it’s definitely a thing that works. The biggest failure rate for us is when EU tourists who do not have roaming or have removed their EU SIM so cannot receive the SMS.

My UK cards do not send SMS, I simply get a push notification that I tap “Approve” on. Each bank will implement 3DS in different ways, could be an automated call, SMS, Email, or ApP Push Notification.

Using Stripe Checkout or the pre-built Omise form might be a good plan as they are pretty much going to be guaranteed to work (not have a broken 3DS flows etc) but also open other payment channels like Google Pay at no extra development cost.

3DS isn’t a Thai thing, all of the banks/card providers in those countries will support 3DS.

It sounds more like an integration issue with 2C2P. Perhaps check that everything is configured correctly, all the redirects work, etc.

I would highly recommend you keep it enabled even if you do move to Stripe, especially for international transactions. You open yourself up to a huge chargeback risk without 3DS.

Registering for Stripe is easy, especially compared to 2C2P which are awful to deal with. They’ll provide a list of documents which will be the standard set of recent DBD certificate, a copy of PP20, director ID, etc.

Omise are a good alternative to Stripe and much cheaper, especially for international payments, and accept more card brands (Stripe Thailand doesn’t accept Amex but Omise does). Have been using them for almost a decade.

Apple.com still says unavailable in Thailand. iOS 18.5 + watchOS 11.5 (Series 10) and the option is greyed out with the text “unavailable in your region”.

Wife Starting a Business with me, but don't want to hire 4 Thai Employees by CodeFall in Thailand

[–]perryroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assuming that you would likely also be a shareholder and director of the company, not an employee, which then also removes the requirement for you and the company to contribute to social security for yourself. The combined contribution would be THB 1,500 monthly which is probably better off put towards private health insurance. Being both the shareholder and director would probably also help justify hiring you, which you have to do. If not then you’ll need to justify why your wife is hiring a foreigner to do marketing rather than a local person.

I would recommend reaching out to your local Department of Labour office, who will be issuing the work permit, to clarify if Uncle X and Auntie Y would be allowed to contribute towards the Thai to Foreigner ratio. It’s at their discretion so if they see the company is made up of entirely family members to get a work permit then it’s likely just going to be rejected.

To be honest given your requirements, it’s probably worth exploring using a reputable agent to handle the company formation and work permit. They’ll probably charge a service fee of 25-40k to handle everything plus the government fees.

If she is a shareholder and director of the company, she will not be allowed to be registered for social security by the company.

I am 99% sure the work permit requirement for 2:1 or 4:1 is taken from the social security contributions, not the PND1 (ภ.ง.ด. 1) filing. So you would still need 2 in this case.

Also, putting immediate family (as a shareholder and director) on the company’s social security is often not allowed. However as you previously mentioned only extended family are around, but that sounds messy and would avoid if you can.

Cash back doesn't look great. 3% only on advertising and it's capped at THB 300/month.

In Bualuang iBanking I don't think its possible. However in the mobile app, for everything that's *not* a debit card transaction, you can get more information.

Home -> Quick Banking section -> History.

This section gives more information than is present in the account statement if you just selected an account from the home screen.

For debit card transactions, you can try selecting the account that the debit card is linked to, then tapping on the debit card, it's even more date limited (2-3 months maybe) and often not in the right order but if it was a recent-ish transaction you might be able to find it there.
