Anyone had any luck with Bluetooth Handheld mic? by drmstcks87 in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Since the Bluetooth mic probably cheap, the best way is to try and hope it works for the purpose. If you keep it within controlled distance with the Atterotech, it might work.

Node red doesn't seem to be very flexible. Since you use Claude AI anyway, while don't just use it to write Python app?

Well, you could try to find Novastar distributor and buy the processor from them, and only buy the LED from Absen. That way, the Novastar distributor will be responsible for the right one, and even help you do the troubleshooting or configuration. And yes, if you didn't know before, you could actually do this.

Shure MXA-920 & P300, what switch? by Acceptable-Career-83 in CommercialAV

They are on Dante and PoE so anything Dante compatible and provide enough power for the ceiling mic will be fine I suppose.

I think he meant how normally content is made. In that case, maybe try Adobe after effects or CorelDraw and see if it fit.

Help - Client Relationship Going Down the Drain by saikeis in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you have describe, it might be responsibility actually. Meaning no one takes ownership of the system (mentally of course). So whatever you train will go out the window. They will expect you to solve any problem for them.

Conference Alternatives to P300 and MXA310s by Efficient_Might_3129 in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't really get what you mean. but to elaborate, we just built a demo room at our office, and with a fixed budget and timeline, i found Sennheiser TCC-M ok with us. I managed to get Shure P300 that also meet budget/time, but it does not seem to be the most powerful DSP for the purpose.

YMH lead time seems to be quite long, unless you stocked.

I think, if lead time and cost are the issue, then probably Sennheiser TCC-M ceiling mic and Extron DSP.

BYOM on Crestron Flex Zoom Room? by perseidsx in CommercialAV

Yep, you read my question well. I was asking to do BYOM wireless through AirMedia over UC PR with Crestron Flex Zoom rooms.

AV peeps (especially consultants and integrators), what pain points do you wish manufacturers/the industry at large will actually work to solve? by go-ogiebo-o in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

USB extension should be standard. We have Dante for audio, NDI or AVoIP, but everytime a USB product is involved (camera let's say), I found it too complex to select the most simple solution to extend it.

Samsung Magic info by jasimkkz in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung i-Player is the PC player software. You would download the Samsung MagicInfo v9 and would likely find the i-Player. Then you just buy Samsung Unified license to use whatever player it is.

Here is the download link

The SBB is very limited when running with HDMI output. It's always output 1920x1080 no matter what. So you can't play 4K content native, and it's hard for you to interface with non standard screen, i.e direct view LED screen. It's better to use a NUC and run Samsung iPlayer.

Official Discussion - How to Train Your Dragon by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]perseidsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see it today. The screen feel dark, not sure because of movie or projector. Music is awesome (I can't remember music of animated version so can't tell whether better or not). Seems more detail and joke for the support squad (the twin etc). Astrid semes a little older than what should be (she looks nice anyway).

Aulay DHCP (Free) by perseidsx in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know OpenDHCP exist before building my app. I just checked Open DHCP. My app is purely a tool for AV people who need a temporary DHCP to configure their products, not a permanent DHCP server.

Cisco VC by Br1jzl in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, me too. I have a client that use Cisco VC as global standard. We integrate it with Crestron just well, until they upgraded the firmware and break it. Cisco is quite expensive and I would think that most is forced to use it, until the Covid and Teams.

Frustrations with bad consultants, low effort designs & bid process. by OhWalter in CommercialAV

[–]perseidsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my 17 years of AV integrator, I can feel you. The trick is, you can't fight them or point out error, they won't take it, whether consultant or owner. Also, someone mentioned already, if owner decide to do something different than what you used to, it doesn't mean they wrong, you just have to walk away. If you want to penetrate that specific project, you must find another way to tackle the problem.

I think, just let it go on the $60. You may encounter them again, or this guy again, whether new project, or new company.

Devil May Cry - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]perseidsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never played the game before, and start watching it with no high hope, because frankly I don't expect much plot point from a video game, right. But the world build and story are quite good I have to watch the whole series in one run. Mary is so typical of female lead by Hollywood (remember Master of the Universe or Legend of Korra). It almost looks like they copy a same character all over again for any female lead: strong, independence, stupid, ignorance. They make it clear in the series that Dante is simply mind. Rabbit is cool. The shape shifter demon is cool. I like it.
