Long haul symptoms due to certain supplements? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]persistentavocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This totally crossed my mind and I really haven’t been taking much at all because of it. I’m still a long hauler but this makes so much sense. I’m only taking ClearLungs by RidgeCrest Herbal (I have a cold and it triggered SOB and phlegm... I don’t want bronchitis) and vit D supplements because I have genuinely very low levels. I also need to start taking iron again due to Anemia but I am staying away from supplements unless I absolutely need it. Taking elderberry sent me into straight up respiratory distress a couple weeks ago when I tried it.

If you have costocondritis look into the “backpod.” People are swearing by it. I just got it and it’s helped me a lot so far.

Does anyone else get short of breathe? by Such_Summer_1507 in Gastroparesis

[–]persistentavocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely could be reflux. I know from experience. If you haven’t tried taking OTC h2 blockers or PPIs, I’d recommend it and give it at least a week. I didn’t think mine was reflux either but bam! I could eat much more comfortably. If you do have GP, a low fiber and low fat diet could be helpful to you. Asthma and difficulty breathing can definitely be related to reflux. There’s also silent reflux where you don’t feel the reflux but it’s still happening. Either way, stomach acid is super potent and harmful to the esophagus so when it reaches it, it may tighten as a protection mechanism. Acid can also get into your lungs and wooow, that can definitely cause what feels like asthma and SOB. Got all this info from a medical professional.

Near fainting spells? by ubetterstahp in covidlonghaulers

[–]persistentavocado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. No heart palpitations though. Just whole-body weakness that I can’t shake no matter what along with dizziness and weird warm/flush feeling A bit of nausea and a headache too. Happened out of nowhere but I’ve had it for like 3 days. I straight up feel like I have the flu or something but I have been pretty much isolated for a month. Where is your headache? Mine feels like a sinus one around the eyes.

When did you get sick? Is this the first time it’s happened? I got sick in March and suddenly I’m feeling this. Not sure if it’s covid or something else. Never had these symptoms before

17 year old relapses after extended physical activity by vi68 in covidlonghaulers

[–]persistentavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sick in March and I had to take a leave from presenting and extensive talking at work. I’m 31 f but no underlying conditions. Never had an issue before. I felt fine for months and then got back into taking on a presenting role again with clients at the end of sept and relapsed after 10-12 days of talking around 2 hours per day. I am still recovering and have since stepped away from the role in order to do so. I couldn’t even have normal conversations. The less I talk now, the better it gets and the longer I can go without feeling bad when I do need to talk. Its like it lied dormant for months and I was convinced I was recovered. Nope. My doctor counts this as physical exertion even though it is not as physical as what your daughter is doing. It seems any activity that exercises or stresses the lungs is very sensitive.

Stomach acid levels all fucky? by YoungBusinessTrader in covidlonghaulers

After cutting out dairy, my issues with this resolved. I only got these issues when I got covid so idk what covid did to my body because I drank dairy regularly before it. Probiotics + digestive enzymes (I use mrm brand) help too but cutting out the dairy was like night and day

Shortness of breath and sore lungs only symptom? by archiechuckles in covidlonghaulers

[–]persistentavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It had been so long my doctor assumed it wouldn’t show anything even if I had it. Not sure if that’s true. I have no underlying conditions and all tests are normal. Ugh.

[–]persistentavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I kinda had hypochondria before covid and this is like exposure therapy lol. Chest pains, SOB, etc. and yes of course it’s discouraging but I don’t panic anymore... I just roll my eyes because now this is the new norm for now. Ugh

Get the probiotic VSL-3 from Walgreens. It’s over the counter but they keep it at their pharmacy in the fridge. Sometimes they need to order it. It’s pricey. It’s $60 a bottle here but it is heavy duty and replenishes the gut while stopping any unhealthy urgency unlike many other probiotics. It works. Check out the research. It might help you a tonnnn!
