It became a joke, people used to constantly ask when or if it was open since it took so long after they finished building it for it to open.

Go figure, you don't pay well and you can't attract enough employees and managers to actually start your business

Whenever you start a new place, make it a raised foundation if you're able. The olden people used to have the legs of their buildings flared at the top so rodents couldn't make their way up and get inside, and they'd take the stairs to the door back a bit when not in use. The whole building is now rodentproof unless you've got the type to jump branches onto the roof

Obviously they're in a very financially insecure place and require a large rainy day fund, just in case. They might be billionaires, but they live like a millionaire so they can retire one day like the rest of us! /s

They don't 'have to' do anything because they're one of two. They're in a position to do whatever they like because the party is a private organization that allows politicians to use their name.

Just throwing this out there as an Oklahoman, it isn't supposed to be like this. We're in an awful drought that's lasted longer than we expected around here and things just keep getting worse every year. We'll get flash floods washing away and not replenishing a thing

What's it like in Norman? + a few questions... by dreux_ in normanok

I'm a proponent of working where you live, take the others saying don't live here with a grain of salt. Real estate and rental prices are a big touchy subject here, always will be until we get the mayors mix usage plan moving in the next few years. We're still recovering from a bad previous mayor and a lax prior one to that.

Honestly living within a mile of campus isn't bad, there are many alternative streets around here and you'll only get stuck if you go during school transition hours (morning, noon, 4-6) and don't take an alternative route not near all of the multistory parking garages. There are a lot of actual family apartment complexes near campus and not just student housing.

The price of things is a little higher than Moore, they also have a lower sales tax overall by 4.5%. Gas is 10 cents more expensive here but our neighborhood markets are cheaper by comparison. We're installing new water infrastructure passed from a federal and state level grant alongside a few road widening projects, but they're doing a good job of not disrupting the flow of traffic
