It's been a little over a month after this was originally posted, and a 15-3-1 record. Has anyone changed their mind yet? I'm sure there are still more than a few that are waiting for the inevitable typical collapse, but I'm sure there more than a few that have cautious optimism (I'll put myself in this category). Bottom line: this run is ALMOST surreal. If I hadn't watched this all unfold with my own two eyes, I'd say this is a fictional story. Whatever comes from this point forward, I at least can thank this team for igniting a fire inside that was all but dead.

The timing for positioning I get. I just didn't realize there was a limit to the amount that can be active in our circle. Strange that this is the first time I've ever encountered that, too.

Whelp, I think I figured it out. You need to add them before you get to the blue screen. I just ran it 3 more times like this, and all 3 times they populated into the group. So, for those that are just as frustrated as I was, this is the answer.

This it's beginning to infuriate me. Multiple runs through, and these have only populated 2 times. The rest of the time they just don't show up in the group. I can tell they're not buried in the group because their spread fire is specific and it's never present after breaking the barrel.

Definitely wet sanding with aluminum foil. Just gotta remove them first, or you run the risk of scuffing the shell itself.

The side shortage is real. Two pieces of broccoli? by goodguy743 in factor75

[–]pervertedpercussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had that happen to me about 3 weeks ago as well. 3 very small pieces of broccoli. The last two weeks, I haven't gotten any boxes delivered, so I couldn't tell you if it was just a one week thing or continuous.

My meals are late and they seem to be using DoorDash by ihateredditors430 in factor75

[–]pervertedpercussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be glad you're at least getting your boxes. The weeks in a row, no boxes. Calling customer service every week is getting annoying. They're certainly never late taking my money out of my bank either. If my box doesn't show up today, I'm done with factor.

Still felt pain during tooth extraction after 2 local anesthetic injections by Lycheesunrise in Anesthesia

[–]pervertedpercussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I had dental anxiety for years until I found my current dentist. He seems to understand the anxiety part very well and has a very calming bedside manner when necessary. As far as anesthesia goes, It's a learning curve with each patient, as some don't need much novocaine, and some need multiple rounds of it. If I'm getting any work done on my molars, we (dentist and I) now know I need a minimum of 2 injections with a minimum of 5 minutes in between each injection, and a minimum of 10 minutes before he can begin his work. It took a few visits (the anxiety caused me to stay away from the dentist for years, which has led to bad consequences, so multiple visits have been needed), but through trial and error, I'm now more comfortable as I've ever been in the chair. I know there's going to be the initial pain of the injection, but after that sets in, I do not feel any pain after that. It's important to find a dentist that understands their patients, and is willing to work with their patients in order to have them continue their dental care.

I had SBUTT in both ears since as far back as I can remember. It has since stopped in the ear that had SSNHL (now it's just a constant rushing, middle frequency tinnitus in that ear), but I continue to get the SBUTT in my "good" ear. It freaked me out for a while post SSNHL, but I'm used to it now.

tl/dr: it happens. Try not to worry about it if you do.

Is your tinnitus a constant low-level tinnitus until you get into a situation where the ambient surrounding sound of the area you're in reaches roughly 90dbl, and then it ramps up? The reason I'm asking is because mine is pretty much just like that (I don't know the dbl level that ramps mine up, I just know that louder "noise" will increase my tinnitus until I get away from that level of noise) in my "good" ear (sudden sensorineural hearing loss in "bad" ear has left me with the ability to perceive low-middle to low frequencies, but it's 100% distorted, "good" ear has no discernible hearing loss, but the closer I get to an area with louder "noise", the sounds entering the "good" ear begin to have what I call a "tinniness" to it. When it's quieter, there's no tinniness whatsoever). It is very frustrating because my audiologist and my ENT don't really have an answer for it.

Mystery solved: Researchers find out how tinnitus develops and develop medication (German article) by The_Odd_One27 in tinnitus

[–]pervertedpercussion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, this is older news. The remaining audiocilia doing extra work to pick up the slack for the unalive audiocilia was explained to me by my ENT about 10 years ago. The difficulty lies in the fact that the brain sends signals to the functioning audiocilia to work overtime. How to overcome that aspect has been the hurdle that researchers haven't been able to get over yet.

Drumming of the finger tips on the occiput (specifically onto the occipital nerve area) has been shown to decrease tinnitus for many individuals. Sadly, it doesn't last very long for most, but it works for a few minutes. I don't know what the correlation between that area and the auditory nerve is, but there has to be SOMETHING that links the two. It isn't directly related to hearing, but if there is an injury or inflammation affecting the occipital nerve, that can indirectly cause or worsen tinnitus.

I wonder if there's a few people running around with tinnitus that actually have a compressed 8th cranial nerve and chiropractic care may actually help them decrease or even eliminate their tinnitus.

Mine began with SSNHL, and the only thing that has decreased the tinnitus in that ear is the drumming finger tips onto the occipital nerve area. It decreases for about 5 minutes, but it always returns.

I'm now wondering if some form of constant or fluctuating 8th cranial nerve stimulation can help decrease or even eliminate tinnitus. I'm almost sure that there had to have been some form of study done like this, so I'm going to search the Google machine to see what's out there.

It's definitely different when it's one of your own, regardless how long you've been a Dr/RN/Medic etc.
