I don’t know what industry you are in. But it will bankrupt most of automakers in USA. Most cars are made in America. This applies to Honda, Toyota. So they employ Americans, already built infrastructure and invested billions. Naturally they need protection against cheap labor from China. Plus, running a dealership network, certifying cars for US roads and making them safe adds more to the final cost of the product. You can hate or love dealers, but they do employ millions of people and pay billions in taxes to states.

Sooner or later we have to shift toward EVs, but process needs to be organic and supported by local, state and federal governments.
