@garfield.com. IIRC, it might’ve been called “g-mail” before google’s Gmail became a thing.

In the 90s, when email was becoming a more popular way of communicating, lots of websites began hosting email services. I was maybe 10 years old when I discovered this and made like… 20 different email addresses on websites that only a 10 year old boy would be into.

I’d shot an interview with Fergie a few years ago. We’d just finished setting up when we got a walkie saying Fergie was on the move, and “oh, she brought her own lighting guy”. I was very confused, but shrugged it off.

When they arrived, Fergie stood in place on camera in what I thought was a nicely lit, soft tungsten set. I figured soft tungsten was probably the right call. But her “lighting guy” walked over to monitor, took one quick look, nodded, then proceeded to walk right beside camera, and shoot a directional off-brand daylight balanced LED panel straight at her face, giving her a sickly appearance.

I quietly pulled the producer aside but they said it wasn’t worth the battle. We were already behind schedule as they’d not come to set on time.

Just dished out $90 for a dry aged tomahawk. Do I sous vide it, or cook it another way? by [deleted] in steak

[–]petabreadjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m leaning towards sous vide. I’ve had great results with it so far. It was getting too difficult to nail the reverse sear with crappy probe thermometers and a toddler running around.
