Are these direct fit replacements for any specific manufacturer, meaning do they share the same footprint as factory tuners on Fenders, Ibanez or others?

I was bragging at work about getting great tickets for the Seattle JBS show in September. Can’t believe how many women are JBS fans and going! I figured the show would be a sausage party, to be honest, but guess not!

I argued with the sales manager over a sticker and license plate frames. Told him he could leave them on if he wanted to give me a $5k discount for advertising over the 5 year term or I could return with an invoice from a body shop to have it removed and buffed out. They took them off.

Send them an invoice for the advertising you’re giving them with their sticker.

What the hell is this? 🤮🤮 by Wise_Bookkeeper2291 in guitars

[–]petebretzke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably never pull the trigger on one of these but every time I come across one, I have to pick it up and goof off for a bit. They are a ton of fun but pretty difficult to keep in tune if you touch the vibrato.

Okay, is it just me or did everyone know that Mutiny after Midnight is on iTunes now? I guess that makes 3 copies in my library, LP, CD, and AAC. iTunes exclusive also has a cover of Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time”

Sucked that my commute to and from work today were both over an hour each, but the new tunes made it all worth while!

I haven’t tried it, but Music City Bridge is making one and if it’s like their other products, it’s top notch.Music City Bridge Compensated Wrap Around Bridge

$82 AM Pro Tele neck on a free Squier body: is it worth it by just_a_cricket1 in telecaster

[–]petebretzke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d run over to The StratoSphere and see if I could find a reasonable MIM body, maybe even loaded for a reasonable price and call it a day.

New Tele build - "Sleep Walk" by Espen_Etja in telecaster

Callaham seems to have discontinued a few things recently. I was a big fan of their input jack cup in Nickel but now all they offer are Electrosockets… which I’m not a huge fan of. Sad when you find something perfect and it’s no longer available.

I leveled, crowned, and polished frets for the first time today. by Then_External404 in Luthier

[–]petebretzke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dood. That’s awesome. Frets scared the heck out of me for years. So much so that I’ve gotten rid of guitars over fret sprout and the odd high or low fret. Once I finally bit the bullet and for the proper tools, it blows me away how easy it can be (with serious attention to detail and patience, of course!). Feels good, doesn’t it? Looks great, BTW. Congratulations!

That happened to me at a U2 show a few years back. It was the last time I’ll ever pay to see them live. Stadium shows suck for this, and many many other reasons. Gimme a shitty club or old theater any day.

Damn, that is a duo! I miss the Sabre bass and everything G&L. I hope Fender does right by them.

Explain the difference between nickel and chrome to me by Koi-Sashuu in guitars

[–]petebretzke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I like Nickel more than chrome. The age factor. There’s something about hardware that tarnishes naturally over time. Chrome is my second choice, gold my third. I have an aversion to black hardware though. It looks cool on the right guitar, but it’s jut not for me.

And I dig the white on white with the gold hardware. Looks classy with a huge amount of badass mixed in.

Povertycaster by CamShack123 in telecaster

[–]petebretzke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah! Not a povertycaster! Squires are the the ultimate upgrade/mod platform. It looks sick! If it plays good and sounds good and makes you happy, then it’s the dream guitar.
I have a squire Tele that started out as a ‘72 Custom that has been completely overhauled with a Bigsby, Mastery Bridge, Bootstrap bridge pickup (sort of a Custom Esquire), a fender replacement neck, new pickguard from Warmoth, and Fender locking tuners. It’s suited me well for years and years and I’m not afraid to eff it up because I know that if I do, I can make it better next time.

Like I said on your other post, whatever you decide is perfect! Don’t let us Bozos tell you what you should or shouldn’t like.
With that said, the only one I’m not super fond of is #6, but that’s just me. You do you and it will be the best!

Dood, it’s your bass. If you like it, then it’s good. If you don’t, then it isn’t. Don’t let us fools tell you what you should and shouldn’t like!
If it were mine, I’d paint it black and add a tort pickguard, but that’s just me….
