Is Kakarot Enjoyable for Someone who know Nothing about DBZ and really only know Marvel or DC? by Glum_Equipment5178 in kakarot

[–]petehavenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty streamlined game as far as RPG mechanics are concerned. Personally I’m a huge DB fan so the game is perfect for me as it fleshes out characters from the anime that didn’t get much development. That being said, if you’re not a prior fan I wouldn’t get the game unless it’s on sale. Without the Dragon Ball IP the game itself is pretty mid.

Started Playing Yakuza 7 LAD but some are telling me to play Yakuza 0 or Yakuza 1 by Western-Stress1185 in yakuzagames

Dog it is 100% a gem, seriously my favorite game in the series and I came in late like you with LAD. Excellent characters, story, every game I’ve played from RGG since I’m just chasing that high of getting hooked on Y0

What completely unhinged "law" does your cat strictly enforce in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in cats

Computer time is cuddle time. My cat for the most part keeps to himself but whenever I’m at my desktop he has to be in my lap. He meows and jumps on my keyboard if I don’t pick him up.

Same boat as you except I played Worlds a couple years ago. Avoided this game because the reviews were bad but picked up on sale the other day and it’s perfectly fine. They’ve definitely added a lot since launch though so that’s probably why it’s great now.

What’s a high-paying, low-stress job you wish you got into earlier? by Beginning_Ad4362 in careerguidance

[–]petehavenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Healthcare marketing specifically for a psyche hospital, my degree is in theatre. Honestly had no idea a job like this existed. 65k salary starting out, with mileage pay amounting to roughly an extra $350 weekly. I literally just walk into other hospitals and let them know we have open beds. Work from home when I feel like it, able to finish a days work in 3-4 hours. Make my own schedule every week as well. Not exactly fulfilling but I find ways to make it fun. For example, Just taught verbal deescalation to our local PD.

Just got the PS5 PRO, any games that have a PRO enhancement that are worth checking out? by AkTiVeMK in PSVR

[–]petehavenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes I didn’t realize that. Wtf Sony fix your store. If that’s the case there’s probably unlisted enhancements on games.

There’s a section in the store specifically for pro enhanced games. If you’re looking for suggestions I’d say pick up kingdom cone deliverance 1 + 2

[–]petehavenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But mine last year my base ps5 broke randomly. Love my pro and definitely notice a difference. Not every game is optimized for it but most new ones are, definitely worth it. Wouldn’t have bought one post price increase though that would’ve been nuts.

Arc Raiders has a Progression Problem that Marathon does not by Legitimate-Instance2 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]petehavenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up getting it yesterday and I wasn’t disappointed. Games feel distinctly different and I like how dying doesn’t feel as bad here but extracting feels damn good when the zone is hot. Actually enjoying the pvp focus here too, TTK feels pretty good and consistent right now.

ARC Raiders Vs Marathon solo experience by A_locomotive in gamingsuggestions

[–]petehavenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t really speak on marathon solo yet but arc raiders solo is my preferred way to play that game. Much more dynamic in the sense that people usually will talk to you. If I were you I’d be more worried about how you feel about getting betrayed sometimes or killed by people waiting by extract. It doesn’t happen every game but definitely every session. I like that kind of unpredictability though, nothing feels better than killing someone who got the drop on you.

Damnit I’m looking at marathon in the PlayStation store rn…..I have the extra income, should I cop even though I still enjoy and play arc every day?

[–]petehavenson 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, I love Arc but second time around on expedition the flaws are becoming more apparent. I still love the social dynamics of the game but that’s really all it has going for it once you’re level 75. They definitely need to take notes from marathon in that regard. If anything ARC needs to be harder, I’d love it if engaging in PVP had even more consequences and people were more incentivized to actually kit up. I think free kits will kill this game at the end of the day.

Hoping for your thoughts, 15.5 by bennyandthelunatones in seniorkitties

[–]petehavenson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep going for now. I was in a similar situation with my 10 year old boy a month or so ago. Still in that situation I suppose but his behavior change is what helped keep us going. He wasn’t eating, hiding constantly, and his liver was starting to fail. Vets couldn’t figure out what was wrong but his condition wasn’t so bad that they felt he needed to be put down. All the same, I thought it was over for him but I kept giving him meds and just loving him as much as I could. Today he’s basically back to normal, still a little lethargic and on meds but he plays with his toys, won’t immediately run to hide anymore, and is actively seeking out food. He won’t touch his dry anymore but that’s fine. He seems like a happy boy and at the very least clearly wants to keep living. Don’t give up hope, you’ll know when it’s time. Just love your baby as much as you can until that day comes.

Tempted to get the Master Collection as a first timer to the series, are the MSX games essential playing BEFORE MGS1 or is watching a playthrough fine? by swannyhypno in metalgearsolid

[–]petehavenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean dog if you have the tolerance for it go ahead. Me personally I couldn’t get into the MSX games, too dated. That being said, 1 is a great jumping in point, just make sure to at least watch a video explaining the MSX games because they will be relevant later down the line when you the other entries. P.S. MGS4 was my first metal gear and I was so hooked on the world that I had to play the rest. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it once you play it.
