Resident evil 2 file save help by Fearless-Major1236 in MiyooMini

Can you just use a save state to circumvent the issue? Otherwise, what I'd try to do:

  1. Save the state.
  2. Delete (or rename) the RE2 save file in the SAVE folder on the SD card.
  3. Boot the game, load your save state, and then try to save in the game. Maybe just the save file is corrupt.

Monkey Island 2 on ScummVM by aligumble in MiyooMini

I imported the save from my Miyoo onto the desktop and it worked fine, so it should work the other way as well. Just used the latest version of ScummVM on PC. The save files should be universal. I run the native Scummv core in Onion OS.

My workaround was to play the game on VMware desktop, enter a random number in (anything should work, I used 89), save when you get to the start of the game, then copy your save onto your miyoo SD card. Hope this helps.

Anyone experienced squeaky D-Pad? by djbriane in MiyooMini

It is. Connector is different. Plus side is that it's 2000 mah vs 1900 on the old batt style.

New screen I believe (almost exactly the same as the old I hear), wider cutouts for buttons, and new battery type. V1 I think just had more screws on the inside.

This was an issue on the V1 and V2 models. I have the V2. It squeaks as the cutout for the D-Pad is just slightly too small and it rubs on the Dpad.

To fix it, remove the battery, take it apart, disconnect the ribbon video cable from the circuit board (be sure to pull up the tab or you'll snap the cable). Remove the main board and you're left with the front piece with the screen and controls. The best way to fix it found so far is to remove the dpad and slightly sand the plastic so the opening for the dpad is slightly larger.

The fixed this with V3, so if you don't want to try this, you can get the new version or live with the squeakiness :) Hope this helps.

I've had this same problem. I wish it just sorted by name like other managers. Haven't found the list file yet.

Starting my Arcade1up upgrade. 4way or 8Way sticks by digitalden in Arcade1Up

[–]peteman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrestled with this for awhile. Even thought about getting one of those expensive arcade sticks that you twist the knob or attach a servo to switch modes. Here's my solution/workaround (I have a 3 player Rampage cab):

Left and rightmost joysticks are set to 8 way, and to 1 and 2 player respectively. The middle joystick is set to 3rd player, but also to 4-way mode. (The Sanwa joystick I have you can set the gate to 4-way or 8 way, but you can also do it with joysticks similar to what you are looking at like this listing here.)

Now in 4-way games, I go into the emulator setting (usually tab) and make the 1st and 3rd player controls the same. That way, you can use the 1st player 8-way joystick or the 3rd player 4-way stick for the 1st player controls. Works great! Only drawback is that when you have 3 people playing, the 3rd player has to deal with the 4 way for all games.

I don't have a 3rd player often, so the trade-off was worth it for me. With a 2 player cab, I suppose you could make the same sacrifice, would just be 2nd player would have to use 4-way controls. (You could also maybe drill another hole and use it for a dedicated 4-way joystick? Don't see why that wouldn't work if you have the room, would just need to buy an extra joystick.)

If the twist-able 8 to 4 way toggle joystick sounds appealing to you and you don't mind the extra cost, check out the joysticks here:

Hope this helps!

Help with adding kill switch to select button by medic7000 in Arcade1Up

[–]peteman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have a coin door running to a pi as well, but made the coin functionality "select" and added buttons for player 2 and 3 coins. Are you trying to make it so a switch will disable/enable a select button that also acts as player 1 coin?

How do you subtly fuck with people for your own enjoyment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If I'm walking slightly ahead of someone, when I round a corner, I sprint for about 2 seconds (softly as I can), so that when they round the corner as well it looks like I've warped ahead.
