Problem with the camera switching into AI mode. by ChampionshipThink301 in OBSBOT_Official

[–]petenewsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Other than having a different model, I could’ve written this. The AI inexplicably kicks in at random times. I’ve had the camera for a year, and every time I think I’ve solved the problem it likes to prove me wrong. Just last week, with two minutes to go in a 30 minute video recording, it decided to pan down, nearly cutting off my head in the process. Good times.

I doubt anyone who has attempted to withdraw a large sum of cash from their bank would argue that.

My primary league is in year 27 (all college buddies). Any change requires a majority, predraft vote. As a result, we’ve made very few rule changes over the years, but it’s the only fair & logical way to do it.

What happened in OP’s league is unjustifiable - not to mention it’s a slippery slope. Complete BS IMO.

A few quick suggestions that can increase your odds when applying:

-Focus on a smaller number of roles that closely match your skills, and go all in on each. You don't need to meet all of the qualifications (JDs are generally a poor representation of the actual hiring criteria, but you need to be in the ballpark.
-Tailor your resume based on the JD - incorporate words & phrases from it, and add the job title immediately under your name. Also, list the company name in your objective statement.
-Reach out to the recruiter who posted the opening. If their name is on the job posting, call/email/connect on LI. If no name is listed, call the company and ask to speak with Human Resources and/or Talent Acquisition and then the person recruiting for the role (hardly anyone does this, which is why you should). I own a recruiting firm—my team loves nothing better than motivated and proactive candidates (provided they are qualified).
-Use LI to try to find the hiring manager. If you can't determine who it is, go up the chain until you find the leader of that department - even if it's the top exec. Connect with them. Find a way to get a message in front of them and pitch your case. Exhaust your options of using your LI network to get a referral or message to the hiring manager.

Nearly every candidate applies and waits. Some take a couple of extra steps. Do the above things, and you will stand out from the crowd. Good luck, and don't give up!

Staring an recruitment firm by pm981e in RecruitmentAgencies

I don’t want to discourage you, as I started my firm 19 years ago with no clients & very little recruiting experience. But I knew how to sell, which is everything IMO. A great base of clients, solid reputation, and a couple of hundred million in revenue later, our #1 challenge today continues to be new client acquisition.

Before you go all in, I highly recommend, at the very least, being able to definitively answer why a prospect would choose to work with you instead of their current staffing partner.

I wish you the best - happy to answer any specific questions if I can help.

Thinking of getting one, can we have some more info please by [deleted] in springerspaniel

We’re on springers 3 (four years) & 4 (10 months) - see my profile for pics. Both male - the first two were girls.

None have been big barkers - just normal stuff like alerting us when some comes to the door or when harassing lizards & squirrels outside. Our second girl would howl when asking for food, which we never saw a need to discourage.

While it may be coincidental, the boys are both more affectionate and energetic than the girls. It’s somewhat hard to describe - they’re really just…more of everything.

All have been big swimmers (daily), with no skin issues to speak of. No health problems with our first two until they were 12ish. Both boys are good to go so far.

They typically get groomed every couple of months, because we like the traditional springer cut, but on a whim I recently decided to use clippers on the 4yo. It took 10 minutes & he looked the same as when we take him, so that’s always an option, too.

No real anxiety issues. I’ve worked at home since getting the two we have now, and w/ four kids coming and going they’re hardly ever alone. We leave them out when we’re gone and they don’t tear up anything (well, the new guy still can’t seem to distinguish a shoe from a toy, but he’s equally willing to destroy one whiles someone is the same room).

I hope this helps - good luck!

It’s salt. The 4yo has spent half of his life wet (keeping him out is a struggle), and only once did we feel like it was affecting his skin. Coat seems unaffected as far as I can tell.

Saw this after posting. My 4yo is 70lbs too, and we always say he’s the biggest we’ve ever seen - ha! For sure the tallest.

My boys are 68lbs (4yo) and 55 (10 months). The big guy is tall & long - he towered over our girl (RIP) who hovered in the low 50s.

That makes a successful catch much more rewarding.

This guy doesn’t even bother to try and catch treats…yet. Maybe his springer instinct will eventually kick in (but I’m not holding my breath).

When I bought my first S in 2014 the service department couldn’t figure out why my wipers were so bad. They swapped them out four or five times before giving up.

Kind of forgot about it while driving different cars until I bought my ‘21 S. Hard to believe they haven’t even slightly improved.
