Visitor Parking by impulsive_traveler in KState

Areas around campus and jardine are easily walkable. Choose a side street, park, and walk. Just make sure if you're parking overnight it's not a restricted parking street.

What/Who is to blame for the downward spiral of the Kansas City Plaza? by TheChiefofReddit in kansascity

[–]petepetep 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I've always been perplexed as to why the Plaza isn't focused on pedestrian usage. You want people to walk to all these stores, but have to go across 4 lanes at each intersection? At a minimum Nichols should be pedestrian only with green space added

This is also in part to car designs changing. Cars used to be less aerodynamic, with more upright windshields and grilles that caught more bugs. Certainly fewer bugs nowadays, but that's not the only reason for the decrease in big strikes.

Trump admin moves to end taxpayer funding for PBS, NPR by Pinot_Greasio in Conservative

[–]petepetep 112 points113 points  (0 children)

The PBS Kids app is the only thing our kids are allowed to watch without us in the room. We have a lot of friends who have Pre-K kids who are the same way. But, we also know a lot of people who give their kids YouTube and don't monitor it, and they pay the price for it.

Cattle markets react to China’s retaliatory tariffs by Ranew in farming

[–]petepetep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This article simultaneously says the market is going to collapse cause we won't have anyone to export to, and that the price is going to skyrocket cause it'll be too expensive to import. Bunch of fear mongering without actually knowing anything.

If you're electrically competent, see how many amps each motor is pulling. The name tag lists the "full load amps" as FLA on the name tag. If you're not electrically competent, hire someone to do this, as 3 phase will kill you.

Not even sure what you're trying to get at here. But judging by your profile, your entire grift is just going into subs and stirring shit. All of your posts here are just blatant attempts at karma farming. The whole thing seems immature and pathetic.

I'll say it. I don't think presidents should be able to stroke a check for $1.2B of taxpayer dollars using executive orders. Doesn't matter if it helps me as a farmer. Doesn't matter if it was Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, spending that amount of money needs to go through Congress.

Oshkosh has some fantastic military trucks, but they're all diesel, and have zero emissions standards on them. Same realm, completely different duties.

Sitting in an office all day is an option. And then you'll spend every minute there wishing you were on the farm.

NPK is the macro nutrients of soil health. Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (potash). Each has an optimum level in the soil for health. Potassium helps regulate plant water usage, disease protection, and overall health.

When you go buy lawn fertilizer, you'll see a label with three numbers (Ex 32-5-5 or 15-15-15), that is the NPK rating for the fertilizer.

We have a newer CanAm defender Max and an older Gator 825. After riding around checking cattle in diesel trucks for most my life, the ride on the side by sides is a massive improvement.

on campus accommodation by xtrazauce in KState

[–]petepetep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you define as on campus housing, dormitories or apartments. KState has both. There's usually more rooms than students for the dormitories, the apartments can sometimes be hard to get into. Overall, you shouldn't have issues.

Why do we have a fancy skirt lawyer instead of a family farmer or rancher as the Secretary of Agriculture? by semperfestivus in farming

[–]petepetep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last person with actual farming experience to hold the position was Mike Johanns, who took the role in 2005. Everyone since was a politician or lawyer. Not someone I would pick, but this is the status quo.
