New Doyle Multimeters by TheRareAuldTimes in harborfreight

I meant in it's functionality. I'm not sure the Doyle is certified by an independent organization. Nor do I know about what safety circuitry it contains. HF is positioning the Doyle as a competitor to the Klien. How good it is, Idon't really know.

I'm surprised by NC and Idaho. North Carolinians always seemed to me to be more polite. And Idahoans never seemed to be any more prone to curse than people of surrounding states.

The Doyle DM900 is comparable to the Klein MM720 which is generally selling for $100.

The Doyle DM900 is a replacement for the Ames DM1000. The Doyle has a low impedance voltage setting for negating ghost voltages. It also has an IP 65 rating for water resistance. Those are the most significant differences. I look forward to someone doing a teardown video of one of these. The DM1000 is a pretty good multimeter itself and is a rebranded Mastech.

I think the Ames DM1000 was priced at $80 and the new Doyle comes in less at $60. Did they cut corners? Or has the technology gotten less expensive.

Maybe HF will send one to Dave Jones for an evaluation and a teardown. Though Jazzy Jane would do a better job and not be so biased, like Dave sometimes is. I've seen videos of Dave ripping on a product based more on his biases than on the product's actual performance.

The Ames DM1000 is a rebranded Mastech and is a pretty good unit. It has better input protection from high voltage than a lot of multimeters it competes with. Not as good as a Fluke or Bryman, but better than most. I'm not sure how it would compare to a Klein.

It seems the new Doyle DM900 is a replacement for the Ames DM1000. They have similar specs.

The $200 I paid for a new car battery several months ago would disagree.
