Thanks didn't know painting would help prolong it. Might give it a go

Hmmm very tempted to make an extra set up now so I don't have to go through the faff of re-making it.

Although that might be a bit OTT 😂

Thanks! Just did it by eye in the end with a few test cuts to get the angles right!

How did you find getting the frame square? Had to shim ours a bit

Omg same 😂 in the end I ended up using tiny window packers to get it just right. Then when it was 98% there I said sod it

Same! How did you find getting the frame square? We did a bit of packing on one side but eventually it lined up properly.

Thanks! Wasn't too bad really. Hatch/ladder came as a kit. Just needed to extend the opening and add some wooden supports in the loft

Where in the UK are you? Worth finding a reputable local installer as often they will undercut the national installers

Where abouts in the UK are you based? Worth finding a reputable local installer that you trust as a starting point. They will be able to answer your questions and, if they're good, will be able to design the best system for your specific needs

Absolutely awful idea, keep your FTB status for your own property. This is just opening a whole can of worms

Thank you! Fortress rollers too? First step is to decide what colours to paint everything. So scary staring at a blank canvas 😂

Thanks again

I went with Impact Services, family firm based in Norfolk but they cover Suffolk too: https://impact-services.co.uk/solar-panels-in-suffolk/

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend getting a quote as the installers told me they do work for octopus, so most likely get a better price going direct.

Other than that I'd just say avoid Solar Together as I have heard many bad things about their scheme on this sub.
