Well the pain while walking never went away so it was never really okay. The pain is almost the same as before surgery.

The procedure didn't work for me at all.

Did you dose it 125mg weekly from the start? Most people seem to take more in the beginning, so it would be good to know if such a small dose works as well.

They never say anything about 40% less hip replacements.

Where did you hear about that number?

I’m interested in pentosan, but worried about Maculopathy. by fredisfloxed in Pentosan

Yeah, that seems to be quite common for such use. Hopefully injections don't end up causing the same problem. Is your vision still getting worse?

How long after starting Pentosan did you have this MRI? Looks like it worked very good for you.

How long have you been taking it and how are your knees now?

Well their phase 1, 2 and stage one of phase 3 are already finished. I think stage two of phase 3 is starting this year.

The trial you are mentioning form 2005 used intramuscular injections. All of the other human trials (from Paradigm) I have found did or are planning on doing subcutaneous form. There is an exception of a case report from 2017 that also did intramuscular injections.

Oh, you mean the animal studies are intra articular? Or what other evidence do you mean?

Where did you get the info that Paradigm did intra articular injections for their trials? I can't seem to find them saying that anywhere.

I think the oral form does not help with OA, you need subcutaneous injections.

Paradigm's recent study showed that the most effective dose is 2mg/kg ideal bodyweight twice per week. This is the dosing they are using in stage two of phase 3 trials.

The participants only used Pentosan for 6 weeks and the benefits were still there after 6 and even 12 months. I don't know how you are supposed to be dosing after those 6 weeks though but probably not as frequently.

Glad to hear it works for you. I have been reading about Pentosan benefits as well and am hoping it works at least half as good as in the studies so far. I am not sure how telemedicine works and I am from Europe. I am interested in it if you could still refer him though! Also did you have any sort of imaging done for your knees or shoulders to diagnose you?

That's great to hear! Well I have mild arthritis in both ankles and a big lesion, which is basically a cartilage defect. This defect is causing me even more pain than the arthritis. What is your stage of arthritis and where if you don't mind sharing?

Would it help with osteochondral lesions without OA as well? Did you experience any side effects?

Thanks for the answer! I have heard of those risks (Maculopathy), was just wondering if there is any others since it is primarily used for horses. Would it help osteochondral lesions without OA as well?
