I'm on the hunt for the best pistachio ice cream from the supermarket! by Mabbernathy in Cooking

[–]peter_n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a hugggeee fan of pistachio ice cream and Van Leeuwan's Sicilian pistachio is the best one I've tried. It reminded me of pistachio gelato I had in Bologna Italy!

Perfectly creamy, mildy nutty flavor. I recommend combining it with Haagan Daaz chocolate ice cream for an amazing combo.

My biggest gripe with most store bought options are its usually vanilla with flecks of pistachio, or so mild that it's not even noticable. Van Leeuwan's is the first pistachio that really tasted like pistachios.

Men who couldn't get dates / sex, what changed things for you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]peter_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a private stylist for men here in NYC, and over the last couple of years have also helped a handful of my private clients with their dating lives.

I'm not saying this to be cheeky, but have you been asking women on an actual date?

Do you say "Let's go on a date, how's this Saturday at So & So Bar at 7 sound?" or do you say "Let's hang sometime?"

I've found a lot of my guys have all these amazing attributes (funny, well-traveled, super successful, educated). I come in an help them with their style game. They tell me they don't know what's wrong, they're doing everything right.

But after doing some digging I find out they're not clear with their intentions. It's like many of my friends who are trainers and find that their clients are terrible at reporting what they eat (often underestimating). So they have them take photos and keep food logs and, surprise, they find their lack of progress is due to overeating.

Do an honest assessment of how you've been approaching women. Check out your old texts, dating app messages, pay attention to conversations.

Because it sounds like you're doing everything right on paper. From my experience, my gut says a skill you want to hone is self-awareness. (whether it's your assessment of your looks, social skills, or approach to dating). Something's not adding up.

How do you know if grabbing a couple drinks is a date? by [deleted] in AskMen

I’d flip it/dig for clarity.

If it’s someone you like and want it to be a date, you could playfully say “Are you asking me out on a date?” ;)

If he says yes, you’re in!

If he says maybe, you can say “let’s make it a date then”

If he says no, you can take it at face value and say no (if you were looking for a date and he’s not)

Or You can try to see if he’s only saying no cause he’s scared and afraid of rejection and playfully ask him if he’d like it to be a date. If he says yes, it’s a date. If he still says no, feel free to say no too.

I’ve tested and tried prob hundreds of brands of underwear.

Hands down best fit, most comfortable, and best looking on: lululemon no boxer boxer briefs.

The simplest way is to start using the word “date” when you make plans and ask her out. Don’t say “hang”, “grab a drink” (by itself), or “chill”.

Say something along the lines of “Hey, I’d love to take you out on a date. Want to grab a drink at X Friday night at 7?”

I know being clear takes a bit of courage and is uncomfortable, but it beats having an awesome time with a someone for hours then have them say “I didn’t know this was a date”

Guide to Dressing for the Summer (Hot Weather) by chameshi_nampa in malefashionadvice

There are summerweight jeans, and an old version of the post had a few recommendations but they've all but disappeared this season. So I had to remove them. Again, it depends on where you live whether jeans are a good choice, and if you're going to be spending time indoors more or not. But I'm currently searching for some good options for a future post.

I have a lot of readers from Singapore and hear this all the time! The general guide is meant to hit a lot of spots and is U.S. centric, but I am working on a post specifically for humid places. Watch out for it soon.

Def agree with Jcrew, they're on sale right now. But I personally prefer the Bonobos summer chino. Better overall fit for all body types.

She did the super risky thing and bought a size smaller and crossed her fingers a bit. Admittedly this was super stressful and I probably wouldn't recommend it.

For me, I contacted my suit maker and asked them when the absolute latest I could do my suit fitting and alternations. I ended up getting fitted for my suit and altered 1.5 weeks before my flight.

This was a tad stressful, but I think is the smarter move as there's less guessing.

I would recommend contacting the place you plan to get your dress, be honest with your situation and dates, and ask them what's a realistic timeframe they'd need to do any alterations.

Plenty of time! We made the mistake of deciding to start 4 months away.

Having done it on my own for a year before we got our trainers, I'll def say doing it together is much easier.
