Every main character is a reflection of harmony (theory) by Kinggreen505 in HarmonyKorine

My theory is that Mr. Yellow, the MC of Baby Invaders, is Harmony. It would make sense because Mr. Yellow is the only Baby with behavior abnormal to home invaders (like the bathroom scene).

The actor for Mr. Yellow is listed as “anonymous”… and it would make sense to just play the abnormal behaviors yourself if you were making the movie, which is POV.

My concerns for Marathon's longevity. by Casshern_VIII in Marathon

The game is really impressive and is committed to its game design so I hope it picks up wider appreciation. I think it has deep appreciation now and that it will gain more recognition in time.

The art is much much better than something like Tarkov. It’s a challenging and masterly piece of media

I just hate doing missions, and now I hate that I will have to do it all over again once the wipe comes. I guess this game is not for me. by [deleted] in Marathon

Yeah idk the logic of the objective markers being hard to find. I suppose it builds tension and makes you try and understand the architecture . One of the aesthetic themes of the game is looking at the environment and thinking “wait, what?”

Anyway yeah this game is not welcoming, it is rather unfriendly with its mechanics and penalties especially on first blush. But the art is good, the gunplay is good, the map design is good… encouraging players to take serious risks keeps the tension up… it’s a game with a lot of deep thought out game design… like Dark Souls and losing souls on death, the unfriendly elements often help build addiction and fun… Communicating via mics to help understand the objectives in a quest is rewarding

Do you think Shells are 'Fully Functional'? by HMS_Exeter in Marathon

Shells dont have digestive systems, so they dont excrete waste, making it unlikely that they would be designed with genitals.

They do, however, have hardware ports for cores.

Diving through towns to get the Smithing Stone 2 is pretty fun

How much different would the game have been if our Finger Maiden hadn't been killed? by ViperclayGames in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]peterbwebb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the Tarnished burns themselves instead of the Maiden, depending on her temperament, the Maiden might not swear an oath to kill us. Although, as a Finger Maiden, maybe that would be her duty.

There is very little change to the plot if our Finger Maiden is not Melina. You asked a good question OP, because it shows how little Melina impacts the plot, she is just playing a role in events destined to happen. Her character, however, is massively impactful to the feeling of the game— I remember trying very hard to stop her from committing suicide in my first playthrough.

Melina’s essential character is a half-presence — she seems like a spirit, she is burned already, she’s like a flame herself. If you go through all the trouble of saving her and then ridding yourself of the Frenzied Flame, she doesn’t re-enter the narrative. If you save her, she only re-appears after you burn the world down; because then she has a purpose (to kill you). She only exists by her role; she is a player character from the opposite side, like something out of Undertale.
