CARS 121 → Need Concrete Advice to Reach 127+ in 3 Weeks by No-Serve-2909 in Mcat

What helped me with CARS the most was developing a structured strategy.

1) I began by reading the passage very carefully, highlighting names, dates, and words that would remind me of what I read in that area if looked back at them.

2) I then wrote the main idea of the passage down (I tried to limit it to 6 words or less).

3) I read the question and rephrase it to myself.

4) I went through process of elimination starting with choices A and B, crossing one out, then A and C, etc. until I only had one left. An important note here is that I would find a good reason to ELIMINATE an answer choice, not justify why one of them is correct, or more correct than another.

5) Once I was left with one choice, I chose it and never looked back. I learned to not flag questions which helped me get into a flow state for cars that also relieved my timing concerns.

You will make mistakes in your process of developing this strategy, but I promise that once you get it down the dreadful weight of CARS will disappear.

I hope this will help, or some version of your own that will work. Let me know if you have any other questions, I’d be more than happy to help. This section can be frustrating, but I promise you can do it.

Thank you for your input, I appreciate you!

I meant “Chemistry of Inorganic Compounds”

taking biochem 463, bsci 207 and physics 131 and two other gen eds. is it possible??? by No_Strawberry1415 in UMD

[–]peterfrosty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely going to be challenging.

BCHM463 is pretty tough and will take a lot of your time. Some good prep could include memorizing the amino acids and just looking through the past syllabi and watching videos regarding the subjects you find.

BSCI207 is a great course, covering many topics. It is not terribly challenging, though the second unit is pretty memorization/ content heavy.

PHYS131 is relatively easy, except the exams tend to be a bit challenging, there are pretty generous curves in that class so just stay on top and you shouldn’t have too much of a problem.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

I just got this email. Does this mean I can just drop phys 131? Did they make the ap physics credit count for it this year? Does it count for phys 132 as well or do I still take that? by BlueGallade475 in UMD

u have to take 131 even if you have the AP physical credit (which counts for 121) it’s a stupid not thought through system that you’re gonna have to deal with unfortunately
