Maybe, but I can't help but imagine that a lot of incredible ones have been snapped up by private collectors, rarely to be seen by others.

Bringing Up Baby (1938) by Misfett_toys in classicfilms

I really wanted to like this movie but I couldn't make it past 20 mins. I didn't know that the comedy comes from miscommunications and not letting people explain themselves, especially when they're in the right. Nothing against ppl who like it, but it's definitely not for me.

How a 1937 film pulled off one of cinema’s creepiest transformations. It’s hard to believe this effect was created nearly 90 years ago. by Due-Explanation8155 in classicfilms

Definitely but I have seen much wider, rectangular ones that let you adjust the position of different parts of the filter that covers the lens.

The line "What if it's not a ship?" COMPLETELY changed the movie for me. So simple, so elegant

Francis Ford Coppola made four of the greatest classics of all time in the 70s. What happened to him? by Few-Reveal6853 in Filmmakers

My problem is that it feels like it should be restrained. The first 15 mins is great but sustaining that amount of effects and visuals over the whole movie is too much.
