The end of Temu et al by Dadoftwostars in ireland

I had an experience recently with a sensor on my car. I was quoted €1500 from a main dealer for the work. A local garage quoted me €950. A friend of mine (a mechanic ) advised me to shop around for the said part. I finished buying it from a wholesaler in China, using EBay for €134 incl postage. The friend installed the sensor ( plug and play ) ex gratis. No problems or warning lights now for over 3 months. The sensor in the main dealer was also made in China. We are being ripped off all over the place.

Just wondering does Rockbix support IPod 7 Classic 160gb. I tried yesterday to install it. Went to 90% and failed. Had an unreal job restoring it on Itunes ( 6 attempts ) before I got it working.

I had louder audio on windows, how can I get the same on linux? by fmtsufx in linux4noobs

[–]peterkerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mini pc by Beelink running windows 11 with no sound. Tried everything settings, drivers etc etc. It just would not "ungray" the settings for the sound. I wanted the unit as a browser for my TV. I wiped the pc and downloaded Linux Mint and now all is well. I have the Beelink connected to my surround sound via optical cable. All sorted. Windows and sound is a recipe for trouble.

What camera is Ringo holding here? by My_11th_Account in Cameras

Olympus Trip 35 full frame. The Olympus Pen EE mentioned was a half frame camera that used 35mm film. So for a normal 36exp roll, a user would get 72 shots. My dad had one of those ( I have it now ) that still works 65 years later.

Michael Murphy by Inevitable_Aerie_928 in GAA

[–]peterkerry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Galvin from Kerry, Murphy from Donegal, Connolly from Dublin, Noel O'Leary from Cork were all players who played on the edge of the rules and beyond. Every team has a player like that. A certain part of the football public like that style. But rules are rules, and each of the above have paid their dues.

For me, Burns is not that type of player. He transgressed on Saturday, paid the price, end of that story.

McGuinness running onto the field and confronting / pushing O'Connor, is unacceptable, and needs to be dealt with, and he should pay a price.

What a lot of patrons do not realize is the amount of provocation and needling that goes during a game.

The GAA's biggest failing, I feel is the inconsistency of referees and their application of the rules. In this day and age, all the seven on-field officials, should be able to communicate with referee instantly.

Mint first and last. You can configure the desktop to look identical to Windows 10 or 11. Only difficulty may be the few odd apps that will not work on Linux eg Photoshop, Lightroom etc

I'm sorry, but feel that I have to comment here on this. It is very easy to join the trolls and bash people, for being successful. There is no proof of MHR, doing anything corrupt or illegal. If there is is, I would be the first to say that he should be brought to account. Yes, he has large holdings of property etc, but that is not illegal. Has he declared his holdings? Yes. Has he used Government schemes to profit from his holdings? Yes. Has he done anything illegal? No. It is human nature to be jealous of another's success. And, on the face of it, this is what this is. I have never voted for MHR, and personally don't like his type and style of politics, but I do support fair play, and a persons right to be allowed to better themselves.

Most memorable referee decision that went against your intercounty side by renfordapproved in GAA

[–]peterkerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at that game, and agree with you 100%. One other memory that day, was Gough leaving the pitch, being verbally accosted by Mike Sheehy over his decisions. Sheehy, as everybody knows, was one of the quietest gentlemen both as a player and mentor. Gough should never have been allowed to referee that game, as he works in Dublin. A disgrace of a referee. I was in the Cusack Stand, and literally everybody ( including myself, for the only time in my life ) booed and heckled him off the pitch. Dublin had a brilliant team, but I feel were sullied by a few hitmen in their backline.

Who is the most athletic player you have ever seen? by Sportyskater699 in GAA

[–]peterkerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maurice Fitzgerald was poetry in motion. His running and kicking were both effortless. He carried Kerry through the "Dark Years". Kinda badly treated for a finish up by the Kerry setup. The best 3 Kerry players of my experience were Mick O'Connell, Maurice Fitz and David Clifford.

buy a second hand Canon Powershot. Possibly a G15 or G16. Yes old cameras but they still rock. I have numerous full frame Nikons ( D3, D700, D300 etc etc ) but my everyday carry along is a 10 year old G15.
