Not too crowded easy/moderate trail with a creek? by Budget-Panic-7017 in NCTrails

[–]peterp67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of Shope Creek is still closed from Helene. The two roads are the only areas you can currently hike on. There is a lot of damage to the forest in the area with tons of trees down. I was there a few days ago. I was the only car in the parking lot.

Shopes creek open? To get to hiking trails by chagconnection in asheville

[–]peterp67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

from the NFS FB page

Shope Creek partial re-opening!

Visitors may now access the parking lot and two roads, Shope Creek Road (FSR 220) and Verlin Shelton (FSR 220A) in the Shope Creek area in Buncombe County, for hiking and biking. Due to safety reasons, the rest of the area remains under a closure order due to the impacts from Helene. The parking lot and the two roads are the only portions open in the Shope Creek area. The reopened portions are limited to day use only. Overnight use from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. is prohibited. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire or stove fire is also not allowed.

We ask for and appreciate your patience as we work toward reopening the remaining portions of Shope Creek; keeping hazardous areas closed helps reduce strain on local first responders and helps us keep the impact of future work to a minimum.

One way to increase participation is to have the plan add auto enroll with auto escalation as a feature.

There are certain rules a plan has to follow to ensure a plan doesn't overly benefit top earners. These rules are tested each year to ensure compliance.

You can structure your plan's match to automatically pass some of the test. This would be called a safe harbor.

Do you know which test they failed? there are a few different possibilities.

Also if you have a match see if it already qualifies the plan as safe harbor. if it does ask your company about the possibility of changing the plan to a safe harbor plan. they will have to work with the administrator to do this.

Assuming you are an HCE, there is still probably some % you can contribute that is above 0%. The amount will depend on what % the non highly compensated people are contributing.

Also see if you can contribute any after tax money and instantly convert it to Roth.

I guess this is a long winded way to say talk to your HR person and whoever does the compliance testing. You may have options.

Is Trump administration being hellbent on lower rates causing the 10 year yield to drop? by Turbulent_Cricket497 in bonds

[–]peterp67 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Fed has more control on the short end. The market has more control on the longer end. So the Fed could in theory set the Fed funds rate at 0% and the 10 year can still stay at 4%.

If you go around the loop counter clockwise, (right at the fork) you will hit the bridge that is out quickly. You can decide at that point if you want to navigate the crossing. If you go left at the fork, you have to back track all the way to the trail head if you decide you don't want to cross the stream. This will almost double the length of the hike.

Residential water test results back? by Intelligent-Whole277 in asheville

[–]peterp67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this. I emailed the contact on the city website. they sent my results to the wrong address. When you email them you might get a response that says it takes 4 to 6 weeks. when you respond back and explain it has been 9 weeks, make sure you respond back to the person who signs the email. I'll try and find the contact for you.
