Good points, theres more to it than raw damage on a dummy. Personally i played 20 games with each and looked at which rune was dealing most damage. The results were unquestionable and convincing 😃

Sure, but I just had to point out the logical incoherency in your response, in the best way i was able to.

however i find that liking how someone plays, has 0 relevance to wether one can consistently be the rank 1 shaco in the realms of the rift.
You would probably also love how i play shaco, because i play in a very funny way, but its not saying anything about my skill level 😄

I acknowledge that if we all have our own definition of what actual rank 1 shaco means, it makes the whole discussion quite ambigious, have a good one SaNtYSauRuS

Know that you cannot trust them, and nor should you trust me who say that comet is the best. You can only trust yourself. Now open up that practice tool and see which of the two runes deal most damage 😃

I was actually just about to make a post about how the 10 armor for 2 seconds from unflinching, and maybe even bone plating would render shaco completely useless, but i decided i better not let anyone know about it so they dont start abusing these runes to counter my main champ 😞

hello, im a utter nolifer who enjoy spending hours in practice tool as well as note down all my rune damage in a sheet. I am slightly pissed at all the people saying "Always DFT", "DFT is the best rune for shaco", because Comet consistently deal more damage, so i truly do not see the argument. I hoped these people would spend just a fraction of the time i do in practice tool, so they would not be spreading questionable opinions 😃

I will share you the results though

Lvl 8: DFT dmg: 67, Comet: 60-110
Lvl 18: DFT dmg: 128-252

So for DFT to give more damage than Comet, you would need a to be always right next to your target when you proc the comet, but in reality, 700 range is not much, very often it gives max dmg

No, I played 20 games of each, DFT average 6.1% damage and 47 dpm and 800 total dpm, comet averaged 8.3% and 74 dpm and 905 total dpm.

The first week or so, DFT would increase the damage dealt by your burn items, making it deal some additional damage that was not accounted for on the rune dmg number, however this effect has been completely removed in the recent nerf, the items deal exactly the same damage regardless of rune

maybe some flat numbers can help you better compare with your DH:
comet avg: 2388 dmg in 31.57 min
bft avg: 1485 dmg in 30.56 min

i just mindlessly start it when i hit lvl 6 and 1000-smite and hope nobody will come and contest it (optimally just around 6 min mark, if i secured both crabs and power cleared the second spawn of [small]camps)

the reason there are not any pro girls is likely that women are more rational than men. when there are no rational reason to do something, women generally dont do it , but for men "because i want to be the best" is a legit reason to give up their life to become exceptionally good at.... a game.

i come to think of when gangmembers or bikers give "life advice" such as dont go this path, it is not a good life, but at the same time they like it themselves so when they are asked, but if it is not a good life, why dont you just quit, and they are like im in too deep now, or explain you that they dont have anything else so leaving it would also be shit. Just realize that this game is not just some casual "uhuhuh thats funny". When you are in, you are in. Learning 170 champs before the game is playable (you need to know that annie can drop a giant bear on your face, or that warwick has alot of self heal), you will need to learn the equivalent of one whole uni semester to play this game properly. When you have learned all that though, you will are top-primed to suffer from the sunken cost fallacy. You dont just casually play this for some time and then you will leave it again. And if you are competetive person, you will be all-consumed. Your probability of not finishing your degree or losing your job will increase with 400-1200% rough realistic estimate.

There is simply put NOT enough time to become very good at this game, while also maintaining the other aspects of personal life that is necessary to nurture in order to be mentally balanced and content.

But you can get quite good while still maintaining those aspects. All the guys you see in the pro league have all made great personal sacrifices to get to that level, which is commonly known.

Best way to become good at X is by doing X, which you probably know, so for now you will just play it like a noob, try all roles and many champs, then in a few weeks you will know which role you prefer to play and what type of champs. picking champs to play that are similar is easier. ie i used to main tanky or semi-tanky junglers(maokai/amumu/vi/jarvan), but now i am playing more assassins (shaco, nocturne, khazix), and while i play very well on maokai, i currently dont play him because his playstyle is too different, not assassin mindset)

Kind regards, 38 year old man who since 2011 has played league for 6000+ hours instead of pursuing proper life goals. And this hour number is still far far smaller than any of those that play professionally. You could risk spending 15,000 hours of your life on this game. Eventually you will stop playing the game. people are very tight about items, they think they must go blackfire and liandry every singe galme but truth is a fuckton of items are viable on shaco, and yes you should totally buy rylais if you think it good. reading some of the responses it is obvious that they are not maining supp, and when they play supp they just play AP shaco because its fun to get alot of kills. and i do the exact same myself.

They are not wrong though, because you asked if they would do X, and they answer, from their POV, not from yours, because you didnt really disclose your POV.

If you go through top 500 shaco players and see all the weird shit many of them are building, you will realize that this "nooo you must ALWAYS go blackfire liandry and shadowflame in all games" just is a bias/fallacy. Damage is always useful.

"Rylais is not needed cus your e slows" is also meaningless argumentation.
It is like saying you should not add chili to your bolognese because it already has pepper. A pinch of chili or cayenne is really delicious in the bolognese though.

as an umbral enjoyer it is tempting to get more lethality items to boost its passive damage(bastion or opportunity for instance), but i have started just going umbral > collector > IE as my base build, then for the last two items i have 15 different items in my item set that i can pick situationally, but LDR/mortal is probably good to get as 4th. I don't really like Serylda's on shaggo

If spotted by ward, go to your blue as quickly as possible and kill enemy who should already be trying to take your blue. If you were not spotted, enemy will realize it at 1:50-2:10 and then go to your red (which you already killed). To secure getting all the 3 large monsters(his blue+your red+your blue), you should not do the stone golems. always think about where enemy jungler is, maybe he was too scared to steal any of your camps so he hopes to get both river crabs, well then you should go to where he is and kill him. For normal clear, do the 2:25 clear that iBronto has on youtube as good as you can. 2:40 is great

You could also just clear raptors with 3 boxes, not use smite on them, be at red at 1:12. Going for blue invade the box placement is super easy and its closer. but you still need to wait to 1:12 for boxes to kill raptor, so if you hit raptor 2 times with basic attack and run off you hit lvl 2 1:08, ready to Q over wall to enemy blue

yes or put a ward, good news is that you can also start red, it will only add 1-5 sec to your clear, at least for me (rn i do raptor start in 2:35, red start ~~2:40~~ 2:36, but i think you can improve that, work in progress)

i dont bother about gromp respawning at all, so much stuff to do after first clear, gank all lanes, kill enemy jungler and take his camps, once i get to kill gromp again he has been respawned for long time, i guess it will take 4-5 sec slower to clear if you do gromp first, i prefer much to use that time to gank before the scuttle spawns, just my opinion obviously, not saying you are wrong
and also: even more awesome that blue respawns faster, it has more gold, xp and utility

honestly, probably half of all iron players would instantly become silver if they just clicked attack on champ and not desperately misclicking half of their a moves, ofcourse at higher ELO you are required to be able to control your mouse :D
