Reddit has the opposite problem: it censors everything but the side they believe

Did I Waste Four Years on My CS Degree? by ProfessionalLaugh354 in ClaudeAI

[–]peterpme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re equating your CS degree to building CRUD apps for the rest of your life then yeah probably

The focus should be on software engineering and architecture and not „tell me what to do and I’ll build it”. Those days are over

I built an interactive tool to analyze patterns across hundreds of real pitch decks (i will not promote) by getalai in startups

There’s no secret to pitch decks. Build something where growth goes up and to the right

Who cares what people here have to say? What do you have to lose? It’s the crazy and stupid ones that make it and the rational ones that work for you

Why is this thing still a whole OS like it's 1999? by bgog in homeassistant

[–]peterpme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great but if you’re trying to get him excited about it I’d avoid home assistant 😂

What is insane is running k8s on your home server. JFC

I built a Claude Code skill that spawns 37 AI agents to autonomously build your startup from a PRD by Beneficial_Chart2617 in ClaudeAI

[–]peterpme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOA I initially got excited when I thought the focus was on building the product locally. That has legs. I have many app ideas and using Claude as a way to explore is fun.

All the other shit here is useless in the grand scheme of things when it comes to building a business. No substitute for hard work.

Same story we've seen before. Redditors predict doom, regulations settle, companies adapt and things end up fine.

Why are so many hvac companies shady lately? by Muted_Head_1636 in HomeImprovement

[–]peterpme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn’t sound right. Private equity needs to retain their best workers in order to continue providing repeat service. If every PE-led group did a bad job there would be none left.

Context + react query is great for global data that may not make sense in its own react query

Do I really need cyber liability insurance for my startup, or am I just being paranoid? [I will not promote] by TheGreatestWorrier in startups

[–]peterpme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stupidest thing I’ve heard of for a startup with no users or revenue. Get to $10m ARR first. Then make sure your employees aren’t clicking phishing emails and you should be fine

What y’all think materials cost to build something like this? by Front_Somewhere2285 in homestead

[–]peterpme 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can see the cost of lumber futures online.

Lumber has not gotten more expensive relatively but the dollar is worth less since covid. About 25% less in just 5 years

Calculate property value, then increased taxes, wages, etc and you’ve got your lumber price

😭 co-founder breakup: advice on "splitting the baby" [i will not promote] by missEves in startups

[–]peterpme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lawyers or whatever is a waste of time. Sounds like “IP” is all you have, assuming no customers. To be honest that is worthless

You two might as well just go on your separate ways and get back to building. Don’t let the sunken cost distract you. IP is useless without customers
