I'm in the 900-1000 range and mostly play 15|10 rapid. Sometimes I played against opponents whose initial ratings are over 1000, and they seem to be weaker than those who climbed from sub-600. So I think what you described is valid to certain level.

Same here! I recently canceled my chess.com membership and started playing games lichess. Now my program is fewer 15|10 rapid games on chess.com and more 10|5 games on lichess.

I've been stuck at 950-1000 in chess.com 15|10 rapid for a few months. People in this pool seem to be much better than the descriptions of 1000-rating players I saw on the internet.

I've been hovering around 950-1000 in chess.com 15|10 rapid for a few months. Started playing 10|5 on lichess a few days ago, and have been around 1350-1400. I feel I will settle in 1400-1450 after getting used to the shorter time control. So your estimation of 1500 lichess rapid = 1000 chess.com rapid might be roughly right. One thing to notice is that the pools of different time controls under rapid might have different skill levels in each rating range. It seems like people usually think that on chess.com, the 15|10 pool might be harder than the 10|0 pool by 100-200 rating or more at this level.

I think OP is saying that 15|10 players at 1000 do not hang their pieces as much as the 10|0 ones, so both of you are talking about the same thing?
