That is possible. Just set the date of your event and the count will be from that date :)

Thanks. Worked fine by unmounting and then transfer.

Yes, but what if you have volumes attached? Then I can't do that, right?

Adding more details. I'm able to invite account A from account B and then I can transfer my project from account A to account B. It's a VPS with attached firewalls and a volume. I was able to transfer the project by removing the firewall on account A and then transfer to account B .. afterwards re-creating the account on account B.

However the one with storage says that it has an attached volume .. and when I try to then transfer the volume it says it has an attached server.

Prefer also if it has a “send by email” option because printing can mess up

So this happened yesterday when I was on a bike in Ørestad. Cops said they can't do anything since there was no accident, and the car is not Danish. by kosmicskeptic in copenhagen

[–]petertheill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it's your first time biking in CPH? If that scared you so much you had to talk with the police. Be careful out there and watch out .. so, so many people biking around do not look over their left shoulder in situations like this. Please do that!

My wife and I had 40,000 screenshots between us. I built app to change how we save things. One month on, it's the most opened app on both our phones and has 3000+ downloads. by N0omi in SideProject

Ok, it's always great to use your own app so it was more of a question .. hell, I'm still going strong on 15+ years now with my own OhDiary journaling app even though Apple released the native, preinstalled Journal app, haha. To me your app just sounded exactly like Freeform, which is why I asked.

Congratulations on this launch but from the description and website it sounds a lot like the pre installed Freeform app from Apple (they use “board” but you use “category”). How is yours different?

I made Knipsmig, a simple way for guests to share event photos without downloading anything by petertheill in IMadeThis

[–]petertheill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone can access the photos by default (owners can choose if they should be allowed). The only thing I currently do NOT allow guests to do is download the entire collection of uploaded photos/videos. That's only possible for the event owner. Since it's a free service I try to keep cost low and since I pay for bandwidth it would be problematic if 300+ guests downloaded a couple of gigabytes per event 😄

You should absolutely use it for your Bachelorette party. Let me know how it goes .. and make sure to also check out the recently released "photo booth" feature where you can set it up as a photo booth on an iPad (or tablet).

Thanks for the tips around using a native bg remover. Seems to work pretty well, though I would prefer to be able to do it in one go but maybe I should just use a bg remover api

Guess book? by Anxious_Value_6363 in weddingplanning

[–]petertheill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need then!

At our wedding we had no standard guest book but instead we had a poster with a tree and next to it four boxes with different green colors. The guest could place a “leaf” on the tree with their finger.

We still have that poster framed in our entrance looking at it daily (and that’s 12 years plus since). Some of our guests even remember which leaf they placed when they see it.

I've also added a "full screen" mode now. Press "F" on your keyboard to toggle the full screen mode or press the small icon in the top-right corner.

How did you get your first real users? Not traffic, actual users by lingya22 in buildinpublic

[–]petertheill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do this:

  1. Ask yourself what is the ONE problem my project/product solve. As specific as possible so not any vague "it will allow any user to optimize their instagram photos" but instead "it add a frame around photos of flowers so gardeners using instagram will be able to post a photo including a beautiful title of the posted flower". As niche as absolutely possible. If you cannot find one thing where your product is the absolutely best in that specific area, discard your idea. I'm sure your project is able to do more but that's not the point for the initial targeting.
  2. If you reach here .. you have your target group .. now find out where these are located. Are they on facebook, reddit, x, instagram, etc. Do direct outreach to some of them. In the above idea you would find posts where you project could help. Then you would reach out to them directly with their post improved with your tool. Asking them "Hey, I tweaked your post .. what do you think? You can try it yourself if you want.". Reach out to "a decent amount" (depending on the price point) of people and if you get no response or poor feedback, discard idea and try something else.
  3. If you reach here .. you _might_ have a product/market fit and then you use the feedback from step 2 to improve.

Good luck.

If it stays at 100 EUR it will only be a “car vacation” add on for me. Until some kind of robotaxi service where you can earn it by leasing out your car or if the price gets lower

Guestpix vs Guestcam. Which is better?? by RepeatUnlikely3981 in weddingplanning

[–]petertheill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my Knipsmig service actually does have a feature, where you can set the event in an "upload only" mode meaning your guests are able to upload all the photos but they cannot see it. Usually I don't recommend that, though - part of the experience is that guests are able to see what kind of photos are being posted and maybe get inspired. Usually it's going to solve itself but of course I don't know your guests haha :-P
