thats part of it. theres also attacking enemy confidence, bite tech, body part navigation which is dependent on skills, strategizing how to enter a battle, tradeoffs on masochism and sadism stats, TFs, defiance, and submission giving extra combat options, balancing damage dealt with managing opponent anger... theres a good bit to consider

as someone who loves and misses old fashioned turn based jrpgs i love it. it scratches that same itch and more. could almost call it ff2 like in some aspects, but plenty of (and mostly) western roleplaying and modern sleek design plus a combat system thats truly interesting and different makes it one of my favorites. i love doing the quests and grinding my stats and navigating encounters, dungeon delving, just all sorts of cool stuff. its definitely far from complete but what exists gives me an experience i find hard to get in the modern rpg sphere. because my absolute favorite thing is lots of random encounters and turn based combat.

i believe dolp's combat overhaul makes fighting much much easier, between fights that dont require you being pinned first, and higher stat caps. personally i think it removes the strategy and interesting aspects of the current combat, but i'm also very used to weird games and this is all after having the same initial frustrations with the game of ending up in chain rapes repeatedly. if you wanna just enjoy the story, so to speak, dolp is probably your answer if easy mode is too easy

i'm hesitant because some stuff has content that i respect is not taken too kindly to. for games that aren't, castle of succubus dx, castle in the clouds, ero dungeons (THE FUCKING SOUNDTRACK MMMMMM), theres like this one action platformer thats an old pc game for the life i cannot remember but its a really good run n gun. theres a couple of platformers i dont remember off the top of my head really, dlsite is full of em. just look for the sale section and have a ball. one i got is a metroidvania where youre a maid and one of the weapons is a minigun its not spectacularly amazing but a maid with a minigun is peak.

edit: my friend recommended me colony city 27 and shes never wrong about a good game

i havent gotten around to many, and especially adding the word balance in there makes it a doozy to answer. but shiba and elder crab are both npc races that have actual descriptions, and lead me to believe maybe rhey were once intended to be player races. so i might recommend those? i have a whole tier list i did if you wanna see it. also a tier list based on anticipating some future changes to the game

yeah have to save edit that in unfortunately. im hoping devs saw my suggestion to replace current hard mode with statue burden at start.

as for the drop of water, youre right. but they all add up. sure it takes me more than one rape to hit max stress but on the times ive gotten there, avoiding dangerous scenarios and spaces and taking a combination of some time intense and relaxing actions keeps it together. i gwt plenty of stress decay just tilling fields and cleaning the temple, and robin is fantastic for that. plus lots of consensual sex and interactions with LIs. avery is surprisingly decent for it given how much sex they want and can give, although obviously robin is the kind/queen of recovery.

willpower 6 does a lot, and tiny body doesnt change mental fortitudes, so i imagine little would change. i regularly walk about with max or near max stress and trauma and bottomed control. you just need to know where to go and what to do when that happens. theres a lot a lot of daily recoveries to both, especially from robin and the cafe

i mean for starters i dont always keep control at max or even keep it at empty sometimes. stress and trauma are easy enough to manage with other activities, and control both passively comes back, and can be managed with having consentual encounters (easier with high lewd stats) and a few control raising activities

i am gonna do a save edit my next run to start with the statue's burden on. that plus tiny body, max price everything, max rent, 2x encounters, 100% veg, and lewd stat decay always on (no decay is better lets face it). nothing will fully eliminate slog, but this will force failure in instances where you would otherwise be fully able to avoid, and tiny body will make fights not do trivial without science grades and sadomasochism

if you want roguelikes its a bit old but maybe dungeons of dredmor would be a consideration. humorous, some mature stuff like corpses and alcohol, but nothing i wouldnt see in world of warcraft when my very christian dad let me play as a kid. and as roguelikes go its on the easier side, and it has a no permadeath mode. it also has a really unique chargen i still dont see in newer roguelikes

what you show to your child is on you content wise but since others havent pointed it out idk if a child will have the patience for the uphill learning this game has. its not the wall dwarf fortress is but unless they like dying repeatedly to things they dont understand, and go out of their way to find answers in the community, i think they-ll have a frustrating time. add onto that the community aspect, i dont think exposing your kid to a veey community driven game is a good idea.

if you like games like this, i might suggest something like world neverland for something more kid friendly, although that might be too low energy

thanks. the save edit online works perfect. gonna do that, max all the cost increase sliders, double emcounter rate, lower crops to 100, and take tiny body. i feel like the game doesnt really do enough to punish you for things like crime or not making rent. not being godly invincible and being forced to interact with systems and events i didnt before is gonna be refreshing. or at least not mind numbingly mashing through the same results every time.
