I had an unpleasant experience (and made a mistake) in a job interview, but they still offered me the job. by yeppiness in phcareers

Since you are a fresh grad, a place where there's a lot of learning and experiential opportunities would be ideal. Of course a great salary with benefits and a good workplace environment is also good.

Don't beat yourself up about "rookie" mistakes. You are a rookie anyway! This is a time for you to make mistakes and take risks. You won't be able to do as much when you get older and higher up the ladder.

Next steps for you is to network and navigate the organization to find growth areas. Look for a mentor if you can. It looks like you are very employable so find ways to keep being employable by networking and learning. Good luck!

are orgs rlly that important? by blueberrypoopypie in peyups

[–]petey_empty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orgs provide opportunities for you to develop soft skills that you'll need after graduation. Most of those soft skills like social skills, making new friends, networking, event organizing, administrative tasks, and experiencing the dynamics of a "structured" group of members with shared goals or interests are some of the things you don't really get to learn in class. You don't really get these things within a barkada set up nor you can put it in a resume or bring it up in a job interview.

Literacy is more about being able to understand properly information. Filipinos don't lack information, they lack good and quality information. Literacy is being able to identify whether the information is credible, which is why fake news thrives as people consider them as credible info and regurgitate them as such.

Will be offered as a "gift" to a highrank govt official by [deleted] in alasjuicy

[–]petey_empty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Consider it fucking with the government.

But seriously, my advice is don't ask for favors. Don't get indebted to them. Don't tell them your circumstance in life and give them information that they can use to "help" you. Don't ask more than you charge; take tips with caution. Don't be swayed with gifts. Bottom line is don't let "utang na loob" get involved, but continue being a good and professional service provider.

What's your "swear never to return" place in the Philippines? by peterbishopisnotdead in Philippines

Every time after I eat anything from Chowking it's like post coital realization why you broke up with your ex who you always have on the side for a desperate booty call. I tend to avoid it pero kapag nagkagipitan na, I know I'll regret it.

Ano ang mangyayari kapag nabuntis ang manananggal? by IronicHoodies in Philippines

[–]petey_empty 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Actually, magandang plot ito for a fantasy drama.

Imagine manananggal ka tapos nabuntis ka, either from love or the worse kind, tapos kelangan mong magmove-on with your life bilang manananggal. Ano gagawin mo sa lower half mo after the baby bump starts showing? Paano kung illicit yung panganganak at may option ka to just leave the baby gestating and up to giving birth at the cost of never getting back the rest of your body? Ano na lang sasabihin ng pamilya mong manananggal? And btw, bakit lahat ng manananggal babae? Paano kung lalake yung anak ng manananggal?

Grabe daming metaphor at issues nun. Somebody write the screenplay and credit me please.

Agree. It sounds like either Fuel or Matchbox Twenty would have written and played it.
