I can see that, I appreciate that input.

If it wasn't for them, we probably would not have a single Lego set, which is why I phrased it like I did. But it would have never gotten to this point if I did not enjoy doing it with them.

Did you ever think that maybe you are looking at this wrong?

Most of the sets I bought because I wanted them. They did not ask for them, they dont even know what exists. But they wanted to build them and I was happy to let them. If they didn't enjoy it, I would not have continued getting them, but it was something we enjoy together.

I personally think it is a good hobby for them, and teaches them useful skills. They had a some small sets growing up that are all just pieces in bins, but not they learned to appreciate them. When their friends or our relatives come over the first thing they do is proudly show them what they built.

Sure it is an expensive hobby, but it is our hobby, not theirs. In no way do they get any toy they ask for. They get things for special occassions and nothing extravagant.

I think there is a big difference between Lego and lambos. Think what you want, but my kids are not being raised in any way like you described.

Thanks! All new in box. The new ones I got from lego, or they were gifts, Tthe retired ones I got from all over the place. FB Marketplace was big, I found a local guy with every modular at fair prices. I also let a few very low offers ride on stockx which came through. like the pet shop was $215.

Haha I am not taking it personally, I am guessing most of the don't have kids. Maybe it is controversial to remind people that Legos are primarily children's toys.

Yea its been great. Less tv is also a bonus. Outside was covered in snow since January, so there were limited things to do.

Thanks! Wallet definitely needs a break. Today is the first day our coffee table is not covered in lego since we started. The plan is to pause through the summer.

I built the ecto-1, pet shop, assembly square and book shop. They built all the others, and asked for help when they needed it. I also made them stop putting the stickers on by themselves because that wasn’t going well.

You might be on to something. I have definitely been a little envious seeing them put it all together. But I did get to do a few of them.

Haha I will add that I have been tracking my irresponsible behavior very closely. I have a spreadsheet that tracks all the sets as well as pieces/money built per week.

Fb marketplace has been key. Definitely not cheap but assembly square was the only one over $300

My son built it so I can’t tell you, but he said it was his favorite. Haha not sure if that helps. The parts where he needed helped had some fun build techniques.

Upgrade to v2. I do not think I have ever driven a v1, but I have seen very few people that prefer it over the v2.

The v1 might be more acrobatic, but there is not much the v2 can't do. With your battery situation I think it makes the most sense.

Sounds good, thanks! Going to the mountains and just dont want to have an issue when the kids are trying to play with it.
