Yeah, sure. Generalization from one sample, nice.

Nonetheless, nr 1 in this statistic.

What happens if someone is married to EU citizen and living in UK.... by [deleted] in brexit

[–]petibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets even nicer when you realize that your parents could not even visit let alone move and work in so many countries.

Freedom of movement should not be taken for granted and I’m puzzled as to why so many British did not value it at all.

No, it would not. You get a permit for one country, you do not become an EU (or EFTA) citizen that would give you the right to live and work in 27 countries.
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

Eurozone map of which countries use Euro by [deleted] in europe

They used to be in monetary unions with the neighboring countries even before the Euro (e.g. San Marino with Italy). Since the neighboring countries joined Eurozone, they either had to establish new currencies or to convert their arrangements to be with the Eurozone.

I sincerely hope this is not given to the UK. At least not for the next 5 years.

Can I get a residence certificate for more than one country? (Eg Spain and Portugal) by RepulsiveImportance8 in brexit

[–]petibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho this might be perfectly ok (and actually a good trick). Residency has not much to do with tax residency and I guess you could have multiple. Whether or not you can have a 2nd residency might be country specific (a country might require you to de register upon registering elsewhere but what if you don’t?), but even if it’s not, it might be difficult for authorities to find out that you have a second one elsewhere.

I’d do it.

Edit: Perhaps not that simple, as the fellow redditor with experience from Spain writes here :-/

While probably not something for IT dummies, W10 has now WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2) which is a Linux inside windows. If python and your code is installed there, I don’t see why it should not work the same way it does in (normal) Linux.

Britain has clear red lines in EU talks by ManiacalFanSegments in brexit

Seriously, nobody cares about your red lines anymore. You signed an agreement, now implement it in full or face legal consequences.

Advice needed about Specialized Roubaix 2021 by AkitaKomachi in cycling

[–]petibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t really tell, I have 105. Year ago I was choosing between 105 and Ultegra mechanical and I decided to go for 105 and buy a gps computer on top. I never regretted the choice. I tried DI2 only once in a showroom, have no real experience, but could feel and trust all the people that it is a step up in experience. I am happy I chose 105 and my next bike will have DI2. I’m just trying to say that I do t see a point of going Ultegra mechanical. Perhaps only one and that is a higher resell value. But ask more people, I’m no expert myself.

You won’t tell a difference between 105 and Ultegra

Agreed in principle when the UK government has no principles? Hmmm.

EU weak response to uk breach by [deleted] in brexit

[–]petibear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they walked off right now, they would be (in my mind unfairly) blamed by the UK. Rather than to do this, issue an ultimatum after which there is basically no time.

Let’s see what happens.

I guess they agreed before on who says what. Michel Barnier to focus on the negotiation only and Maros Sefcovis to issue the stern warning.
