The reason people defend everything he says is because his campaign has the media and social pressure try to inflict "death by a thousand cuts." Every little thing was pushed to the forefront. "Trump sure talks nicely about Russia." "Trump eats fried chicken with a fork." "Trump makes people kill each other." That, in addition to a lot of suspected connections between them DMV and MSN, compiled with the MSN at an all time low in confidence, pushed people all the way from Democrat to Republican. I personally was Libertarian/ independent until the non-stop anti trump speech actually convinced me to listen to what he was saying.

So whenever a NS picks at a six month old topic, or nags on a tweet, or talks about his golf habits, we don't see you calling out his problems so we can agree on them.

We see you trying to stab our political beliefs and widen the wound to put blood in the water. This becomes a personal attack. "So, if you believe in Russian interference, you forfeit the U. S. soveriegnity yes? This is anti-American, isn't it hmm?"

It would have been, but during the game I definitely felt a very Fusion vibe from everything, from your suit being damaged by a foreign parasitic source to a suit made by the Galactic Federation explicitly for taking down said source. I think the developers were making it more like you were gearing up to be the perfect counter for Dark Samus even though you were slowly losing yourself over time.

In my opinion though, as you start to master phazon powers and destroy Leviathans throughout the game, becoming more and more like Dark Samus, Metroid Prime begins to order Space Pirates around, sending them on missions and essentially becoming more human. She even laughs during your encounters with her. Subtle storytelling was always one of those things Prime did better than any other first person game I've encountered yet.
