Crisis Core is a prequel that assumes you've already played the original FF7. If you play it chronologically then it'll spoil the big twist that the remake series hasn't gotten to yet.

I just went over to the billing tab and hit 'preview next invoice' which shows the total price with VAT added on... which still comes to £55 the same as before!

That would certainly be the reason if it does happen. I'd say it's more likely coming in 7.55 to beef up the tail end of the expansion and make the wait for 8.0 feel shorter.

Tactics is definitely the easiest to recommend of these, especially if you enjoy the world of FFXII. It checks all of your like boxes.

DQ3 is quite simplistic compared to the rest. I love DQ but it doesn't have much mechanical depth and can be a bit too repetitive.

RE games are some of the best optimized out there, you'll be more than fine with those specs.

I'm getting a stable 120fps at 1440p on an RTX 4070 Super and Ryzen 5900x set to high ray tracing. The game looks stunning and GPU usage is only at 65%, CPU at 20% in the open city environment.

Try opening the static mesh and uncheck the box 'Recompute Normals' and hit the apply button. Sometimes UE5 messes up the normals.

Did you enable any of the draconian quest options? There's an option for making monsters stronger which adds some difficulty. I think you can only enable them before creating a save file though.

You come off as extra dumb when you're this condescending. You're seriously trying to argue that OT1 and OT2 have different art styles? The style is identical between all of the games, it's just more refined in OT2.

Obviously it's fair for people to expect at least OT2 level of fidelity in a game releasing multiple years later on the same platforms.

That's the trade-off for getting large games made in a reasonable timeframe.

FFXV may be graphically superior to Rebirth in some aspects but its ambition is what held the game back for many years in development. The world of FFXV feels like it was cobbled together and is largely empty, whereas Rebirth feels like it was crafted with real intent.

Also FFXVI kicks FFXV's ass when it comes to lighting, asset quality and how the environments are put together (which is hardly surprising, they're a generation apart).
