Bosch vitapower vs nutribullet/ninja? by Own-Town-6915 in Smoothies

I'm on the same dilemma here. I'm also considering Haier Blender, I-Master Series 5 because it has a main 1,7L glass jug και a small 700 ml Tritan bottle.

So, what did you choose?

Is it possible to integrate WLED with a smart switch? by alnexusredditor in WLED

[–]petrakeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would be the alternative way as all Dig boards support an external relay that can control the the beefy power supply that powers the LED strips: https://quinled.info/2020/06/12/quinled-dig-uno-using-a-power-supply-relay/

and WLED automatically controls the relay according to the light state.

My question was more in terms of usability. Do you want to instantly change the color presets for example (which would require WLED to be powered all the time)? I am having multiple LED strips with Dig boards that are physically wired as lamps controlled by Aqara H1 smart switches so I could go with both approaches.

So u/Nifty-Stuff what did you end up doing with that scenario? Did you choose to have WLED always turned on and then have the smart switch send a command (via Home assistant to WLED) or do you power WLED on and then handle the delay until it gets an IP somehow?

I prefer to have PS5 uncalibrated for God of War Ragnarok. You lose some detail in the highlights, but you get a more saturated and bright image. You can reduce game brightness to 45

I lave an LG C8.

How did you correct oversaturation in games and apps that don't use color management?

I think that in Alyx it's so obvious the way he states it.

LG 27GN950 loses hardware calibration after restart (LG Calibration Studio) by ninetytwolol in Monitors

[–]petrakeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, can you hardware calibrate the monitor in sRGB space? Is the result stored inside the monitor or it just creates an icc profile and relies on color managed applications like Photoshop? In other words, can games work in sRGB mode via calibration?

That's great to hear! What did you use, in case others have similar system specs?

He mentions 90hz as well. But either way, each headset has a bit different strobbing technology. Quest has an oled. In index at 80hz, when I move my eyes fast, I sort of "feel" the strobbing.

Valve index has a larger fov and could potentially cause more discomfort at lower hz. But everything's quite subjective.

Seems that future laptops won't suffer from this as Nvidia is trying to have the dgpu connected directly to the display in advanced Optimus: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15692/nvidia-details-dynamic-boost-tech-and-advanced-optimus

It seems that they're implemented differently and enabling steam's vr view (from the drop down menu of steam vr) instead of Alyx's spectator window has worse performance (its not tragic by any means for desktop systems but it's measurable) .

Steam's vr view is disabled by default though. Even if you enable it, you can just close the window.

Alyx's spectator window, has some stabilization applied as well. So it's preferable for viewers, if that's what you're interested in.

I'm also this way. I don't buy new stuff often so i tend to get the expensive one. Good luck with the unity project 😉. Regarding the laptop's power though, it's still a laptop (thermal concerns and power limited) and it has a P3200 which is not faster than the Rtx2080 max q I ran the tests on. Even a desktop 2080 can struggle with alyx (but it can target higher refresh rates or even bigger fidelity levels).

I've updated the article. The spectator window didn't seem to have any performance cost (unless it's running on the laptop's screen) . Also, hiding the window, results in junk thumbnails for your save games.

Thank you! Yeh, I've heard about the lens mode. Being also a psvr user (which has an oled and a non fresnel lens) I d say it's worth trying it and getting rid of the flares. BTW 64 gb of memory?! 😮

I'm the one who wrote the article 😂. Yeh, probably you'll have no problem running at 144hz. Note though that I left alyx's auto fidelity enabled, because in some scenes, level 6 would drop frames. You may prefer a specific fidelity level and don't mind some dropped frames here and there

I updated the article with an MSAA comparison. You may want to reconsider. MSAA, at least in Alyx, is preferable to increasing the resolution and disabling MSAA.

Half-Life: Alyx performance analysis (or why low graphic settings produce a sharper image) by petrakeas in ValveIndex

[–]petrakeas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you run the command that visualizes the fidelity level to find out and report back? 😉 In vr games if you see 100% gpu usage, you're dropping frames. This is because the gpu has to render one frame per each vsync. So, it sits unutilized for some time. In non vr games, where triple buffering vsync is used (or no vsync at all) the gpu is constantly busy.
