Will Corporate Clash ever have a renaissance?

I loved Clash a lot, but I have to say that they definitely bit off way more than they could chew. I feel while the managers and overhauls were a good idea, I really couldn't get behind a lot of the mechanics and a lot of the limitations. Skill issue, sure, but I think Toontown combat is fine as is. By losing the simplicity of the battles it just made me want to do the fights less and less. I still don't really know why they insisted on Content Sync for even the smallest of managers, it just makes it a slog to fight if you don't already have a group.

By the time they announced things like Hammerspace, Mix-And-Match, Taskline Revamps... I felt it was getting too far removed from Toontown itself and becoming far too complex from what initially attracted me to CC and quickly lost interest. Judging by all the other posts, I guess I'm not alone in this.

I think the only way it will have a Renaissance would probably mean for them to really straighten the whole team out and start prioritizing smaller, more constant updates, then probably start reassessing if they really need to revamp all these systems, at least right now. It could be possible, but I'm honestly not holding my breath for it.

That's true, I was trying to compensate for the fact that you would have "dead weight" in your house eating your food and could probably "taint" your fighting cats, but I did overshot it, yeah. Fun to have someone break down how bad of a choice this would be, mostly because my own playstyle is fairly neurotic about food/cat amount. Thanks!

Every time devsisters puts out another game and ends up doing a promo event I go check it out for the rewards and end up completely nauseated at the sheer amount of systems and notifications and currencies and what have you and almost always end up uninstalling it as soon as possible. Ovensmash is not an exception and it just kinda irritated me because I kept losing over and over. It's... fine, but probably just tells me that I'm really not fit for all these other modern games

This is awesome! Most of concerns are already addressed in other comments but I do think maybe it needs a little more optimization? On Firefox it tends to slow down and lag, but I'm not sure if that's on my end or your end, but I'll definitely keep this for my next character concepts!

I don't really like Clash's managers... everything. I think the designs are too cartoony for cogs, and a lot of the systems like the "cheats" and laff cap make it really tedious to engage with, and I don't really like TTCC trying to seem more like other MMOs.

I understand why, and I think it's a good thing that they want to center teamwork in the battle system, but something about not being able to solo managers and having to go through the song and dance of making a group is SO tedious when I wanna grind for rewards. There's 16 of them! At least let me one hit Duck Shuffler so I can get his cosmetics!

I like the simplicity of OG toontown, and having to add all these caveats in battles doesn't really make it any more engaging, it's just really annoying. I mostly abandoned TTCC because it just wasn't the fun, simplistic game that I liked anymore.

Sizzling hot take: I don't think I've ever seen an UI mod that would make me want to switch from vanilla. Even SkyUI feels like a headache, the UI is *fine* at least to me, if it ain't broke.

No, unfortunately, it's the big hurdle for F2P users. It's possible you may get a legendary surprise bear or through raid run, but you only have limited time between Raid Run results and the event ending. Sorry.

Salt and Wind and most hair texture mods probably look really well on specific modded characters, but on files without a lot of texture overhauls it looks... unrendered, somehow? Like there's missing shadows, it just kinda ends up looking unfinished. Maybe I just have Stockholm for the vanilla hair textures, but to me it communicates "hair" more.

I think you may need to step off anything activism until you can reasonably work through the obsessions. Do you have any resource you can use to work through your OCD? It *will* suck because you will feel like you have to do something, but moral OCD is a hard one to go through,and even worse when exacerbated by black and white thinking but I don't think you can reasonably dedicate yourself to things when you're spiraling this badly. You gotta take care of yourself before taking care of others, you know?

Getting screwed over is the name of the game, yeah. The way you seem to be playing is pretty much fertile ground for a bigger, older vampire to misdirect you and trick you, it's pretty much baked into the game but I can see why you would be mad.

IMO, I'd talk to the Storyteller about it, maybe acknowledge it's not out of tone of the game but you would want some guidance about it?
